The article I read said they were at .500 when they were 6-6 in their first season. Who would have thought it would take 44 years to get to over .500! :laugh

If it's the same article I read (Houston Chronicle) a few weeks back also noted that there are several teams (I can't recall which ones but should be easy to look up all time records) of note that you wouldn't expect that are still below .500!

I'm surprised they aren't farther back, they stunk for the vast majority of the first half of the 1900s while in Boston!


I'm also surprised Boston isn't on that list, the Sox had a horrid 1920s and 30s and a bad slump for a few years in each decade:grouchy

Something I found interesting, is that the Balitmore orioles as a team have a .521 WP, which is .044 points higher than their franchise record, thanks to the horrid years in St. Louis.

Another thing. The Browns best record was 93-61, a WP of .604.

The Orioles have had over .604 WP 8 times as a team.
