If Chris Spurling was just Chris Spurling I suppose I would not dislike him much. Standard junkie middle relief guy (every team has one). But Chris Spurling cant just be Chris Spurling, he has to be Chris Spurling who wears a huge OBNOXIOUS gold chain with a GIANT 48 (or whatever his number is) on it.
If your super good you can wear your number, I guess. It is still very tacky, but who's gonna tell Barry Bonds (or the like) he cant? If your Chris Spurling no number....Youre FREAKING Chris Spurling...oh enough of this. Thank you for your support.

c'mon, why dump on the guy, because of his gold chain etc..
his hapless stats, earned him a trip back to the mudhens...on the flip,
he might find himself, and get called back..later in the year...
i was thinking...as bombastic as he is...he has done somthing, we all
wish we could have....get called up to the bigs..what real baseball fan
doesn't dream of such an event...especially playing in DETROIT..

Long ago (ok a few years, I am just trying to be dramatic) I had a boxing coach who damn near fliped when one of the boxers came in with a sliver of a necklace on. From then on I never really thought BLING and athletic endeavor went together. I know baseball is not boxing, but you've had to of heard of the flukey, crazy injuries ballplayers get right?
Besides the professionalism aspect, he is Chris Spurling. I would not begrudge a MEGASTAR nearly as much.
Even though Chris Spurlings' stat sheet was pretty good last year he seemed to throw gasoline all over the field everytime me and my wife were watching live. So maybe that was the reason for my wrath, more then the chain. Anyway, I was just having fun.
I mean if you cant laugh at Chris Spurling, why live at all?

Sorry to bring back an old thread.....did you watch tonight? Oh wait, Spurling has some tatoos to go with that MR T starter kit he has. How about bringing up that Sanchez kid? I am sure there is a warm seat on the bus for Spurling.

I watched tonight in the presence of some Yankee fans from New Jersey. You'd think you could get away from that in Ohio, but nooooooo. If it weren't for all those shots I took, it would have ben very painful.
