Just wondering, What newspaper's online edition has the best coverage of the Yankees? Which writers are hacks and which should taken seriously?

Many Thanks in advance :waving

Now to go watch HG and the Yanks battle! :)

In my opinion the NY Post has the best Yankee coverage followed by the NY Daily News.

These were originally in the Yankee websites thread, stickied here. I figured I'd move them here, since it seems like an interesting topic in of itself, even if originally asked almost a year ago.

My favorite would likely be Bill Madden (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/col/madden/) of the NY Daily News. He's written a book about the Yanks, is quite friendly and isn't one to take pot shots at them, unlike his colleague, the infamous Yankee-hater, Mike "The Lip" Lupica (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/col/lupica/), whose columns I don't even encourage here, as he's got nothing but venom towards the Yanks, tho he'll easily change his tune if his paper got tons of advertising dollars during a championship run.

Any loss, even in the WS and we'll be lectured like schoolboys and girls why we weren't competent enough, despite a $200 million payroll. The Lip is also featured on Sunday's "Sports Reporters" on ESPN, as well as has a full-page column that day in the News called "Shooting from the Lip", where he opines on the various sports that he covers.

For NJ's Bergen County Record, Bob Klapisch is a very good Yankee columnist, also writes for ESPN.

Any of your favorites?

I used to think the Daily News wasn't just a pile of baloney until i saw Lupica's "Giambi on HGH"
