Hi gang,

Been away quite some time...anywho, I was wondering what the feeling was (generally speaking) on the '06 Astros being more of an offensive-minded team than a "pitching and defense" team, as they normally are.

If that is the case, we have a nicely balanced team, IMO. Clemens or no, this is one capable team that could easily return to the World Series. :)

I wish that offensive minded team would show up when Oswalt & Pettit pitch. :evil
For real - it's along season so I hope that we don't have an exact opposite of what happened last year.

Seriously, can Pettit please hold off some runs? How many did he give up last night in our 12-7 loss to the Dodgers?

Houston is no more of an offensive team than they have been for the past two seasons. How can they be, they have the same exact players pretty much. Please, do not even attempt to bring Preston Wilson up either. The reason for the extra offensive output thus far has been because Berkman and Ensberg have been red hot at the plate. That won't go for a whole season.

Also not having Clemens weakened them a lot. These rookie pitchers will not keep up this torrid pace.

Can't disagree with a thing you said. It is playing out before our very eyes the past series in Colo and LA as well as last nights (10-1) fiasco vs the Giants. Everyone has hit a slump at the same time. I feel most of them will come out of it, however I'm nervous about the 3-4-5 guys in the rotation right now.

All I know is Houston was 15-30 on 24 May 2005 and went to the World Series. Listening to a Cubs fan talk about anyone's offense right now is nothing short of laughable :laugh
