heard that HBO might be re releasing on DVD, *61 with loads
of deleted scenes, additional footage, and additional commentary
by Pepper and Jane....hope this is true...a pretty goood film of
that wild 1961 season...heck the Tigers won 101 games, and still
finished 8 games behind the Yankees....who went on and tore up the
hapless REDS in the '61 series..

I'll watch for that. I have it on VHS and really liked it. Finally,Hollywood is learning how to make baseball movies. Did you see "For Love Of The Game" with Kevin Costner? I thought I'd hate it because it's a Baseball/Love story but it's really good. You can't get Greg Maddux out of your head.

I have at on DVD, well actually my dad does, he got it two years ago I think, it's a great movie, one of my favorite baseball movies of all time.

Kevin Costner makes good Baseball movies. A Johnny Gomes fan? That would be funny if he wasn't so good. Is he for real? Good rookie year too.

yeah, saw the film,when it first came out..theatre was empty..too bad,
not a bad baseball movie..only did about 35 miilion at the box office..
the action on the field, looked good..unlike a lot of baseball films..
costner's not a bad player.....have the film on dvd..

but *61, is pretty darn good.....jane and pepper, really caught the
flavour of mantle and maris..
