I feel that we need a thread where we can just brag about our acomplishments. We can talk about team, individual, or even a teamate's feats.

A few years ago, my team played another team called the Washington Wizards. In the top of the 1st, we scored 31 runs. We could have easily scored more, but my coach decided that it was enough and had a kid get picked of first intentionally. In the bottom half, our pitcher struck out the side. They called the game because of the run rule: 28 in the 1st.

I wouldn't be bragging about this.

Our 3 hole, ss , pitcher might get a look from Auburn. He hit another jack to right center off of a 4 seam FB away.
Impressive kid. Talented and fresh...not over cooked

No coach should have allowed the game to get that out of control in the first inning. Especially when dealing with children. This is not your fault as a player, it just says bunches about your coach.

1.One time I was pitching and there was a pop fly to the SS. I ran over but he called me off. The ball bounced off his glove and as it was falling towords the ground I dove and bear-handed it just before it hit the ground.
2.I batted .800 last year in my Jr. Babe league.
3.I got hit in the face by the fastest pitcher in the league and lived to tell about it:D.I even stayed in the game, because im tough like that:D.
I like to brag

We are 10-2 right now. Dog gone we should be 11-1 but we let a big lead get away (that missed fly ball in Left looked innocent when we were up 9-4, a few minutes later and it's 9-9 and we are in extra innings).

I have 2 great kids and a beautiful wife. I am a lucky man.
Oh, and both boys hit the crap out of a baseball. That's cool also.

Ragweed:
The good news is that even though your kids won't be hitting the crap out of the baseball next November, your wife will still be good looking (mine too)...
Life is good. :D

.722 BA last year, perfect (15 for 15) in last years two game play off series.
Top catcher this year. Going into the playoffs next week with a 10-1 record.

I'm curious, what's the purpose of a bragging thread?

I thought it would be cool to see other people's accomplishments without it seeming like they are showing off. This is the only thread where it is okay to brag.

Well, let's just not get too crazy out here with the thread topics. If you folks can resist the urge to create too many similar threads (or very few at all), that would be great.
Thx. :)

I would love to say I smash homeruns like Albert Pujols or patrol the outfield like Jim Edmonds, but I can't. I have a VERY weak background in baseball and never really learned properly so I suck at even softball. As I progressed to the older levels softball turned to fastpitch softball and the decline was even steeper. This year though I'm improving on my two hits from last season and I'm gonna kick a**, Albert Pujols and Jim Edmond style, or, I could be just setting myself up for failure.:noidea

I thought this was a completely obnoxious thread when I first came across it, but now...
Last night my 5th grade rec league game had our first game. Our team is technically the B team, but we are loaded down with talented guys (who are on the team because they either didn't want to go to evaluations or don't like doing things the right way).
For you old guys, think "Ba Ba Black Sheep."
I have some huge arms on my pitchers but everyone is kind of raw. One guy so far will only throw darts (but at c. 50 MPH). Another guy had a good inning until he nailed a guy in the face with a 60 MPH fastball (suddenly my guys no longer think I'm an oppressive boor and now think I'm a friggin genius for insisting that they wear helmets with cages). Then my son who is usually a rock caught a case of the yips.
Anyway, we go up 11-4 on the other team in the bottom of the 8th and after the whole ball in the face thing I decide to sit my wild thing and bring in a guy who was mediocre last year (he's all I've got left in terms of guys I've seen pitch). He proceeds to walk in 5 runs and not get a single out. Desperate, I bring in a guy who has never pitched before (doesn't even know where to stand on the rubber), and who is a complete ADHD case, but who has started to look better this year when it comes to throwing (his dad has started working with him).
I tell him that what he needs to do is focus on the glove, not look at the batter, and just bring it. He starts lobbing it and missing outside and walks in another run (we're now up 11-10). I tell him to focus on the glove, not look at the batter, and just bring it. He starts to hit the zone (pretty good speed and down). He runs the count full and then strikes the guy out but my catcher drops the ball and it rolls into a pile of leaves and he can't find it (we're now tied 11-11). I tell him to focus on the glove, not look at the batter, and just bring it. He then precedes to strike out the next 3 batters on about 15 pitches (got the last guy after running the count full).
In the bottom of the 9th our first two guys get put out. Then my new-found pitcher gets on base via a walk, steals his way around to 3B, and then scores on an IF hit (P made a great play but 1B dropped the ball -- thank god the ump saw it).
We win 12-11.
