Aaaahhh, they should call up my West Yarmouth brother Keith Reed.

BTW, how do you pronounce Majewski's name? I've heard people calling him

1. Ma Jev Skee
2. Me Ess Kee
3. My Ess Kee
4. Ma Jew Ski
5. Ma Jess Kee

Which one is right? Does anyone know?

#5,Ma Jess Ki is the way I've heard it. I hate to see Newhan go down like that. What a great utility player. Is Keith Reed in AAA now? I saw him play in Bowie a few years ago. His time to get a chance is running out,I think. He reminds me of Mike Young,The ex O's outfielder. Power with holes.

I've heard it more like #3 than anything else, but, what do I know. I'm sure us balmeruns are butchering his last name anyhow. :p

That was a big bummer involving Newhan. The doctors are calling it a "spiral fracture"--not good--but say he'll be ok, IF his ligaments were not damaged. They won't know that until they get a good look at the leg for surgery.

Val will do well enough for two months IMO. He won't do as well as Newhan did out of the gate but he'll be a warm body. Hopefully he'll get some at bats--but I'd rather see more ABs go to Markakis than anything.

Um, what is going on with the F.O. of the O's...option Majewski (and after we just got it clear on how to say his name. Now it's Terrero?

My head is spinning.

this sounds like a waste of travel money! I wonder if Majewski was already here? Maybe Val slipped in the shower or something. I checked the AAA stats and Val was hitting .138 The new guy is hitting .412 (7-17,one RBI)

The Orioles always have trouble making a clear decision. I could understand this if Val were playing in Bowie and they needed a warm body until dude from Ottawa could make it to Balmer.

Wait a minute, I've figured it out. Flanagan asked Perlozzo how he like having Majewski up. Sammy replied, muttering, "I'd rather have Guerrerro." Flanny heard "Terrerro", and thought, well, sure, I can do that.

That's funny. I hope that's not true! I see that Keith Reed is doing pretty well at AAA.

Um, am I correct in assuming that one of Majewski's alloted options is now used up? For nothing? Does anyone have info on this?

I still don't know what happened with him. I haven't heard them talk about it on the game tonight. 17-9 O's now!

In a way you are correct. As I understand it, an option lasts an entire year. Since he is on the 40 man roster he can be called up and down as many times as they want this year.

If I'm right, and I think I am, he'll have to be up to stay in 2008. That would be his third option year. Starting in 2009 they wouldn't be able to send him down without first clearing waivers.

I think the timetable for him to be with Baltimore to stay is next year, so I don't expect them to run into problems. Of course with the Orioles you never know.

I just remembered he was up in August 2004, so that would be his first option. This year is his second option year. So, that gives them next year to get him established.

I know I'm the official O's F.O. basher here now...(except now it looks like we've got a whole new group of O's fans yay!)....but, don't you think we could have given maybe 5 mintues of thought before brining Val over from Ottowa...exactly how far of a flight is that anyway? Poor kid.

I agree. If it was a pitcher,I could understand it.They're sometimes called up to use in an emergency,if the staff is overworked or to keep the starters on schedule. Management logic in any business can be confusing!
