I recently did my senior thesis (capstone) on Baseball As An Institution. I have spent a year and a half on this paper. It is in APA format. I have attached the file. You can email me at sgagarin@hotmail.com

Here is the abstract:

Abstract

This study examined the significance of baseball history in relation to sociological theories and specifically the defining characteristics of a social institution. Prior to this analysis, baseball had not been thoroughly defined in the literature as a social institution. The purpose of this investigation was to explain from a sociological perspective the importance of baseball as a social institution. After a comprehensive review of the literature, this researcher found that baseball meets the characteristics of an institution. Baseball has endured for generations, has a complex set of roles, norms, values, and meets basic human needs. Limitations of this study were that few scholarly journals were found connecting sociological institutions with baseball.
