Must be Steroids. For having such a good start, the media should start crucifying him and calling for his career homers to be stricken from the record books. Am "unnamed source" saw him hanging out in the seedy part of Detroit talking to unsavory characters. Must have been reporters.......

Shelton is a good hitter. He was gettin some good pitches hitting behind Ordonez, Young and Monroe. He happened to deposit a few of them into the stands.
I do not believe steroids are involved in this case. I'd like it if he could hit around 30. I'm pulling for the kid.

There's a part of Detroit that isn't seedy?
Unfortunately, there are probably people out there who seriously think the above. And it's a shame. I know a lot of my fellow Tiger fans are pretty excited about what Shelton is doing, like when Cecil Fielder came back from Japan to sign with the Tigers and crushed the ball.

I don't think he is on steriods. He did hit 18 homeruns last season in limited time. It's not like his numbers rised dramatically. He is just on a hot streak right now, I think he'll cool down soon.

I was just kidding about the steroids. He simply looks like a good, young player that loves to play and that's refreshing.

Shelton doesn't look like a roider. Plus, he was already averaging about 20 ABs per HR before this season (includes minors) which makes him about 30 HR threat already in a good lineup.

Shelton's a good line drive hitter who finally gets a chance to play every day. The lineup isn't what you would call 'fearsome,' but you can't pitch around one player any more. He will probably hit 30 this year; 25 might have been a more likely prediction without such a hot start.
Yeah, I would like to take the projections of .420/70/160, but who can take those seriously? :D

He's a pretty well put together dude who has been a fringe Major League in recent years correct? Not accusing anyone of anything, just saying, even if he looked like Luis Gonzalez, it wouldn't mean anything one way or the other. Not everyone chooses to bulk up like the hulkster. HGH coupled with the right "legal" supplements can aid someone too.

Looking like Jose Canseco and having home-run power are not necessarily connected. All you have to do is improve the muscle groups that given your swing speed and the body torque you need to create. Obviously no studies have been done on this but its not hard to imagine that 10 lbs added to a player could make a big difference.

Exactly. Just can't go by size, unless we know what the player took, how much he took it, what his workouts were like, and what his desired performance goals were.
