Hey wassup. Im new to this site but this site is perfect for a baseball fan like me.

So i pitched my first game yesterday ever, i play at the JV level. For some reason i just tol my coach he should take a look at me at pitching. He liked what he saw so he decided to start me in the next game. So i was just like alright, i can do this but i hope i dont get killed, lol.

So the day came, i pitched 2 innings since my coach thought 5 innings was too much for a rookie pitcher. Umm, didnt do so well, 8 earned runs, 3 strikeouts, 2 walks, and 4 hits.

It was a bad game but my teammates tol me i did great for a rookie. They really only scored 8 runs on me because i didnt know how to pickoff. I got called for a balk twice and my coach was kinda pissed, but he knew i wasnt a pitcher, i usually play left field.

So these guys knew i didnt know how to pickoff so they took advantage and stole bases on me like nothing. My coach kept tellin me over and over to stepoff but i was so nervous that i just couldnt get it.

If you threw well, the rest can be easily learned. Good luck and enjoy it.

Location, Location, Location....locate and you can't lose. Last year in JV I learned that they will always bite on the low and outside hook. If you spot the curve/fastball/changeup well then they won't be able to get good contact on anything.

I would consider that a good outing, because pickoffs can be learned.

Thanks and i think im gonna become a fulltime pitcher from now on. Cause at first i wanted to play left field but ive kinda been struggling there but i think pitching is my thing, and i would have never known it.

Right now im just focused on losing a couple pounds and really increasing my arm strength. Im hoping to reach 80 mph.
