and before you ask...yes I created myself as a C :P

A nice Spring Training is over and I go into the season with the same lineup and rotation as the real Phils cause nobody impressed me

Series 1

St. Louis vs Philadelphia

Game 1

Carpenter vs. Lieber

Unlike real life, this was a pitching duel
Lieber however, got thrown out after hitting his 3rd batter Albert Pujols who rushed the mound...a glitch as Pujols was not ejected...so I switched controllers and got rid of Alberto...muhahaha

Decidng factor was an Abreu double...

2-1 Phillie win
Santana W (1-0)
Carpenter-L (0-1)
Rhodes -S (1)

Key stats
RP-Ricon 2IP 3 HA 0 ER 4 Ks
SP-Lieber 5 IP 2 HA 1 ER

Game 2

Mulder vs. Myers

Ahhh offense....Pujols goes 3-3 with 3 Hrs and 5 RBI, I hate Franklin
Abreu 2-4 1 RBI, 1 BB

Rollins gets another hit...woot

STL- 10
PHI-6

W: Mulder (1-0)
L: Myers (0-1)

Game 3

A bitter lose as Cormier gives up a key 2 run blast to Pujols who continues to rock us

a key gaff by Abreu off of 3rd cost us the game in the bottom of the 9th...a shallow fly by Utley and I took off a bit early from 3rd...went back quick but Schumacker in LF doubled me up...I play this game like the Phils do on the field :)

Pujols 4-5, 2 HRS, 5 RBI (11 RBI in 3 games!)
Lieberthal...yes THAT Liberthal 3-4,, 1 HR, 2 RBI

Rollins got a walk and HBP...he had 2 runs but poor Jimmy just like in real life gets the o-fer to end his streak

STL 10
PHI 9

W: A.Wainwright (1-0)
L: R. Cormier (0-1)

SERIES 2

Can we beat the Dodgers???
We will peg Drew with DD batteries every other AB

Game 1

Lidle Vs. Tomko

horrible pitching by Lidle...his 2 seamer was off, but we rallied back with an Abreu and Rowland HR, Abreu also had a triple and 2 singles
Lieberthal walked 2x...and had a 2 run double, looks like I will be stuck in AAA

J.Drew: 2-3, 1 RBI, 3 BB
B.Abreu: 4-5, 1 HR, 5 RBI

LAD---8
PHI---13

W: A.Fultz (1-0)
L: B.Tomko (0-1)

Game 2

Seo vs. Floyd

A nice game overall, I kept in Floyd 2 batters 2 long, but he pitched well...Alex S. Gonzalez in a spot start was the hero..Lieberthal also walked again!

Seo was lights out though...he had 2 bad innings, but I grounded into 3 double plays

Threating in the 9th...Gagne comes in and changeup a K on Utley and Howard flies out with Abreu on 2nd

J.Kent: 1-3, 1 HR, 1 RBI
A. Gonzalez: 3-5, 1 HR, 1 RBI

LAD---6

R.Furcal: 1-4, 1 SB

SERIES 3

PHILADELPHIA vs. ATLANTA

I hate no team like the Braves...so I will be concentrating on stopping the Jones boys

Game 1

Chipper sat for this one...and without 2 threats...Brett Myers takes a no hitter into the 7th inning when Betemit justs hits one past Rollins

Tom Gordon gave me flashes of Mitch Williams as he gives up 2 BB and a solo shot to PH Matt Diaz...but holds on for his 1st save of the year

Lieberthal hits his 2nd HR of the year and walks again...tying the team lead with Abreu with 4 (don't worry he has also K'd 7 times)

C.Utley: 2-5, 1 HR, 3 RBI
M.Diaz: 1-1, 1 HR, 1 RBI

PHI---6
ATL---4

W: B.Myers (1-1)
L: J.Thomson (0-1)

Game 2

Lidle (0-0 13.50 ERA 2Ks) vs. Sosa (1-0 5.06 ERA 4Ks)

Abreu starts it off right away...Rollins on 1st with a BB, Abreu hits his 3rd HR of the year with his 15 RBI

Lidle cruises along with a nice K of Andruw Jones in the 2nd, Abreu throws away a ball and Chipper Jones singles to load the bases but he gets Andruw to meekly fly out in the 4th...then in the 5th after 2 walks Chipper doublkes home a run and again Lidle gets Andruw to fly out...holding a 2-1 lead

But agains I leave him in 2 batters 2 long... he wlaks PH Betemit...and Lieby nails Wilson trying to steal 2nd...but Giles singles and steals 2nd...then Renteria of all people goes yard for his 1st HR of the year...to go ahead 3-2

He did fine, walking 3 and fanning 7

Top of the 8th...Alex Gonzalez gets a key PH single, then Rollins follows him, 0-3 with 2 K's, Nunez of course, grounds into a DP and Abreu grounds out to SS

Cormier and his 22.50 ERA walks 2 batters and almost makes the game out of reach but Lieby nabs another baserunner, LaRoche of all people trying to steal and Johann Santana walks Matt Diaz to load the bases but gets out of it...and I am liking Santana thus far in the season

Reitsma comes in 1-2-3 inning including a 3 pitch K of Howard who is struggling with a .242 BA

PHI----2
ATL----3

B.Abreu: 1-4, 1HR (3), 2 RBI (15)
E.Renteria: 1-3, 1 HR(1), 2 RBI(3)
Chipper Jones: 3-4, 2 2bs(4) 1 RBI(3)
SB: Giles (2)
E: Gold Glover(sic) Abreu (1)
E: LaRoche (2)

W:Sosa (2-0, 3 HA, 2 ER, 2 BB 5 K 3.55 ERA)
L: Lidle (0-2, 7 HA, 3 ER, 3 BB, 7 K 6.75 ERA)

Game 3-Rubbermatch!

Madson (0-0 11.57 ERA 5 Ks) vs. Davies (1-0 2.57 ERA 1 K)

Fasano gets his 2nd start and Victorino will spell Abreu in RF

Davies is also hitting .750 with 1 HR and 2 RBI...gheesh

Bottom of the 1st, Rollins throws one away, and Howard makes a blunder by throwing to 2nd instead of stepping on 1st THEN throwing to 2nd...and Chipper Jones hits a hanging SB from Madsen...foul, foul...NO off the foul pole 2 feet above the RF wall, the Andruw Jones gets his revenge...back to back HRS and Madson looks shaky again

bottom of the 2nd, triple by Giles, WP and another run, then Chipper with his 2nd of the game

We finally get on the board when Nunez and his .130 BA hits a 2 out single
Then after a SF run to make it 6-1, Aaron Rowand hits his 3rd HR of the year after a Howard walk to make it 6-3, they do a very early pitching change and PH Dellucci hts a massive hit 2b that bring home 2-2 Victorino (I am a managing genius) Then Boyer plunks Rollins, Nunez singles the bases loaded and Utley the #3 hitter today singles home 2 runs to tie it up (did I mention I was a managing genius?) but Burrell K's for the 2nd time leaving 2 on base and I am worried about Pat and his .200 BA, so Dellucci comes in to LF on the double switcharoni

Cormier comes in, because I need to see if he has it anymore...Giles doubles but a rare Pickoff to 2nd and WE NAIL HIM!

Top of the 6th, remember the double switch? Well Dellucci in the 9 spot...2-2 count...BOMBS away to RF just clears the wall (Manager of the Year over here please...why can't Manuel manage like me? Why can't he manage like a dead fish?)

Geary comes in bottom of the 6th...walks Francoeur (how do you walk him?) and McCann, ok seen enough, Ryan Franklin instead of Santana...double by Langerhans brings in 2, now down 8-7 (Managerial genius in the Wil E. Coyote fashion, my MOY award gets taken away)

Jones grounds to 2nd with 2 outs and I throw it HOME!!! NOOOOO!!!
A walk to Andruw Jones...and Dellucci throws to the wrong base...2 runs score on a LaRoche single, 11-7 Braves, another run

Alex Gonzalez hits a single, Howard K's the Rowand singles and Alex tries to take 3rd but bang Andruw Jones with a great throw which will cost us
Fasano a single and Victorino...3 run HR to LF....12-10 now (give me back my Award, no way Abreu would have gone 3-4 with 1 HR today)

Santana comes in...and gets hosed 2x by calls, strike 3 on Chipper...no, ump calls it a ball, Chipper doubles on a 3-2 count, 2-2 count on Andruw Jones...strike 3...errr no he walks...then a routine grounder under the legs of Utley, another run scores :(

Double by Francouer, throw home...he's out...NO, the ump calls him safe...grrrr, umps :(

Santana then just falls apart, walk, walk, double...and a long flyball by Renteria...Dellucci runs, jumps and ROBS the HR!!!! But I forget the runner at 3rd was halfway home and he makes it back...a wild pitch and he scores...what a game to forget 20-10

I am so Dusty Baker when it comes to P's...I should have warmed up Rhodes earlier

A.Rowand: 3-5, 1 HR(3), 2 RBI(5)
S.Victorino: 3-4, 1 HR(1), 3 RBI(3)
D.Dellucci: 3-2, 1 HR (1), 1 2b(1), 2 RBI(2)
B.Giles: 3-6, 2 2bs(4), 1 3b(1) 3 RBI(8)
C.Jones: 5-6, 2 HRS(2), 4 RBI(7)
J.Francouer: 4-4, 2 2bs(4), 3 RBI(5)

E: Utley(1) Rollins(1) Renteria (3)
CS: Nunez(1)

PHI---10
ATL---20

W: C.James (1-0 1.1 IP 5 HA, 3 ER, 0 BB, 2 Ks 7.71 ERA...what a tainted victory)
L: Geary (0-1, 0 IP, 2 BB, 2 ER 9.00 ERA...yea!)
Franklin (BS, 1 1 IP 5 HA, 4 ER, 1 BB 11.57 ERA, he stinks)
Santana (1 IP, 5 HA, 8 runs, 5 ER, 4 BB, 1 K 11.12 ERA...the umps and Utley had it out for him, I still have faith in him)

Why the Braves took out Davies, I don't know...3.2 IP 3 HA, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

SERIES 4

PHILADELPHIA vs. COLORADO

Coors Field...maybe another 20-10 game :)

GAME 1

Floyd (0-1, 3.00 ERA, 4 BB, 2 K) vs. Fogg (0-0 5.40 ERA 3 BB, 4 K)

We threaten in the 1st, Rollins walks, steals 2nd, Nunez K's and Abreu doubles but Rollins doesn't score...guhhh, Utley grounds out to 1st and Burrell K's again!

They get going with Cory Sullivan singling to CF, but Barmes GIDP, Helton singles to LF and...picked off...HAHA

Bottom of the 3rd...Josh Fogg singles and on a failed hit and run...steals 2nd...have at that Lieberthal haters :)
Sullivan singles and Burrells throw is way off and Fogg the speedy scores

top 4th Burrell finally gets a pitch he likes and Homers for the 1st time this year
Bottom 4th Eli Marrero says if the P can steal so can't I...no go...Lieby has him out by 5 feet

I give Santana another shot after Floyd gives up his 2nd If hit to Sullivan and walks Barmes...well Julio walks Helton, K's Holliday and Atkins singles home Sullivan and Barmes in comes Geary, Marrero singles home Helton, Marrero steals 2nd but Luis A. Gonzalez K's and Ardoin grounds out....4-1 Rockies

Top 7th...Burrell doubles, Utley lines out to 2nd, Howard walks, Fogg goes out, in comes Mike DeJean and Rowand 2-2 on the day GIDP

Geary is on fire...3 IP, 0 BB and 4 K's...nice outing

Now here is why MLB The Show is the best baseball game ever
Top of the 8th...I PH for Geary with Dellucci a LHer, they bring in LOOGY Ray King, who K's David

I forgot to warm someone up so Dellucci has to face Marrero...and Eli goes deep! D'oh I am stupid

I bring in Gordon to get some work....he gets a GO and K's Ardoin...PH Brian Hawpe singles and Sullivan hits a HR...yep thats Flush Gordon alright

Top of the 9th Abreu does his best Abreu/Alex Rodriguez impression (bolster stats in a blowout)...an insignificant HR to make it 2-7

P.Burrell: 2-4, 1 HR(1), 1 RBI(4)
M.Lieberthal: 0-3, 2 K's 2 for 3 in SBA

C.Sullivan: 4-5, 1 HR(4), 3 RBI(14)
E.Marrero: 3-4, 1 HR(2), 2 RBI(4)

PHI---2
COL---7

W: Fogg (1-0, 6.1 IP, 5 HA, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K's 3.18 ERA)
L: Floyd (0-2, 4 IP, 9 HA, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K 4.50 ERA)
Dellucci 0 IP, 1 HRA, 1 ER, INFINTE ERA...lmao I will have to throw him in a blowout to lower that)

It just goes to show there are many different paths the Phillies take to get to a losing season...are you going to run some of the series as they occur all year?
It may be our best shot at making the playoffs...

GAME 2

Lieber (1-0, 0.64 ERA, 1 BB, 8 K's, .128 BAA) vs. Jennings (1-0, 3.55 ERA, 3 BB, 12 K's, .260 BAA)

I am resting Utley, Bell is starting at 2nd batting 7th

Bottom 3rd, Lieber become un Lieber like....after giving a walk in the 1st 2 innings, he walks Sullivan, Barmes singles, he walks Helton then walks Holliday to force in a run...he has 5 BBs in 3 IP, Atkins singles, Freeman singles and Lieber is outta here..Fults in, Gonzalez with a weak popup to LF with the bases loaded...not deep enough...Marrero K's and Jennings K's...nice job Fultz!

Bottom fo the 5th Fultz unravels like expected
Holliday, BB
Atkins, 1b
Freeman, 1b
Gonzalez, IF hit to 3rd...stupid Nunez, Holliday scores
Marrero Force out, Rollins to Liebrthal

Ryan Franklin comes in and does what he does best, walks the FREAKING PITCHER!! to force home a run, he k's Sullivan and gets Jamey Carroll to GO
5 to nothing

Top 6th, Nunez singles, Abreu walks, and Burrell GIDP...damn you Pat the non bat...Howard singles home Nunez, Rowand reaches via an error by 3rd baseman Atkins...and oh no...David Bell is up

ball 1 and then a GO...David Bell at his finest

Top 7th, Liebrthal GO, Dellucci PH single, Rollins singles, Dellucci to 3rd, Nunez SF, Dellucci scores, and Abreu when it counts, strikes out

So I say the heck with it and leave Dellucci in since I have no shot...he gives a run to a Jamey Carroll double that brings home Sullivan...but he gets 2 outs...so his ERA will not be infinite anymore :)

PHI----2
COL----6

J.Rollins: 2-5, 1 2b(4)
A.Nunez: 0-2, 2 BB, 1 SF(2), 1 RBI(4), game ending GIDP
CS: Abreu(1)
E: Burrell (3)

T.Helton: 0-2, 3 BB
M.Holliday: 0-2, 3BB Yes OBP means alot

W: Jennings 2-0 (7.1 IP, 8 HA, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K 3.10 ERA)
L: Lieber 1-1 (2 IP, 4 HA, 3 ER, 5 BB, 1 K, 2.25 ERA)

I'm just going on what I read in Baseball America but they feel you're a lead pipe cinch to get called up this season.
So you'd recommend this game?
I hate buying crummy PS2 games...

Imapotato

Oh def buy this game

The only down thing is the roster management/editing...some fake guys you can't edit their name because the announcers say the false one...which is lame

and Online play isn't so hot when everyone uses the Red Sox and Yankees, so I gave up online play...had about guys that used different teams...and that was it

I think it's way more exciting to try and win with second tier or last place teams anyway, face it if Francona can win a WS with Boston, anyone can...
I'll give it a shot I've been waiting on getting a MLB game because to me the simulating is as much fun as the playing...

You'll love this then

It has 2 Manager modes...one on the field as if watching from the dugout where you make a plethora of micromanaging moves

or Manager Lite...called Sportscaster Mode...where you can PH, PR, steal, pickoff etc.

The 1st type takes about 1 1/2, the second about 10-15 minutes

I play the 1st game, manage the 2nd and Sportscast the 3rd (and 4th)

very much!

Game 3

Myers (1-1, 5.91 ERA, 6 BB, 13 Ks) vs Aaron Cook (2-0 2.11 ERA, 4 bbs 11 Ks)

IRL the Phils won 1-0 on a great Myers performance

Here, we get on board quickly, as Rowand doubles to RCF, Abreu walks and Utley hits both in with a 2b...Burrell pops up and the Ryan Howard hits a BOMB to RCF, David Bell starting for headache Nunez hits a 2 bagger down the LF line, Lieby pops up..but we make poor Aaron Cook throw 35 pitches in the 1st

A walk to Marrero, a popup by Barmes and Helton nails a 2 run bomb, 2 hits allowed and 2 Ks and Myers gets out of trouble

Top of the 3rd...Cook has 50 plus pitches Burrell singles and Howard hits his 2nd HR of the game...he is coming on, and Cook is out Kim is in

Top of the 5th 1st pitch...Abreu goes deep for the 5th time this year, 7-2 cushion, Burrell K's and Utley hits a solo shot...and Coors Field is the bomb yard, Howard singles...then David Bell....yes David Bell hits an opposite field HR on a 6 pitch 0-2 count and it looks like my Bullpen may get a rest today

Top of the 6th, Rowand has a broken bat GO to 1st, Abreu triples when Choo Freeman having a bad day overall with 2 Ks dives and misses...Burrell K's of course and Marrero robs Utley of a 2b with a leaping grab

Top of the 7th, Howard doubles going 4-4 and David Bell rips one to LF and again JUST over the glove of the OF...David Bell has 2 HRs this game and Nunez may have been replaced by everyones most 'beloved' player...Mr. "My back is fine now coach" Bell

A run in the 9th but Myers was tanked at 120 pitches

The Phil Murderers Row gets 23 hits to the Rockies 7

PHI---13
COL--4

B.Abreu: 3-4, 1 3b(2), 1 HR(5), 1 RBI(17)
R.Howard: 4-5, 2 HRs(3), 4 RBI(7)
D.Bell: 3-5, 2 HRS(2), 1 2b(1), 4 RBI(5) against RHers...yea
B.Myers: 4-5 Myers is the phils leading hitter at .500

T.Helton: 3-4, 1 HR(2), 3 RBI(6)

W: B.Myers 2-1 (9IP, CG, 7 HA, 4 ER, 7 BB (ouch), 2 Wps, 9 K's 5.03 ERA)
L: Cook 2-1 (2.1 IP, 7 HA, 6 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 3.86 ERA)

Well different but the same as in, we won, Myers went deep into the game IRL and here

I am 5-7 the real Phils of course are 5-7

I am a bit disappointed since I thought I was a better manager then Manuel...but I make the mistake of wrong relievers at the wrong time and keeping ALL pitchers in too long...my bench management is 10x better however...as can be seen with starting David Bell in This game, where he hit 2 HRS (barely, but they went over)

and the start of Victorino and double switch to keep Dellucci in at LF over Burrell in post 9 (we won't mention my pitching management...in that 20-10 loss)

9 strikeouts...Hernandez baffled me all day with the curve, didn't walk anyone until back to back jobs in the 8th, well at least he didn't get his 3 CG and 2 SHO against me
Floyd struggles again with the walk, and two relievers walk 2 batters

WAS---7 on 7 hits

1st inning seems to be Myers downfall, Cabrera singles, then Jacobs hits a 2 run HR...he usually settles down to go 5 though

Utley Homers in the bottom of the 2nd, Howard walks, Lieby singles him to 3rd and Myers does the suicide squeeze, and Myers is safe and Howard scores

Vargas tries to score on a double in the 4rd...Pat the bat throws him out, still 2-2

5th, Rollins doubles, Rowland walks, Abreu pops up to the C, Burrell doubles home Rollins and Vargas is gone and his ERA has just ballooned

Myers rolls along like he is apt to do after the 1st 2 IP...until the 6th when Heredia Homers...to tie the game, Willingham singles, Eric Reed walks and Amezaga singles home the go ahead run, Olivio singles home an insurance run
5-3 Marlins

Geary comes in and Jacobs hits another HR

So I call on Gordon in the 8th to get some work

Matt Herges K's Burrell, walks Utley, Howard singles, Bell FO to LF and clutch Lieby singles home Utley, PH Nunez GO to end the inning

Borowski in for the save, Rollins doubles, Rowland weakly singles, Abreu hits into a FC, this time I steal with him to break up the DP ball...SAFE and Burrell draws the walk...Utley SF's Rollins home....a tight 6-5 game

2 outs, Howard up who is 1-3 with 2 K's and 1 BB...and a fastball, Howard hits it deep, hits it far....WALK OFF HR!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Phillies win!

FLA----6
PHI----8

M.Jacobs: 2-3, 2 HR(4), 3 RBI(16)

R.Howard: 2-4, 1 HR(4), 3 RBI(10)

W: A.Rhodes 1-0 (he still has a 0.00 ERA)

Game 3

Josh Johnson (0-2, 6.40, 8 BB, 8 K) vs. Cory Lidle (1-1, 5.19, 5 BB, 15 K's)

PRE GAME

Lidle had a good start last game...and his BB to K ratio is nice...let's see if he can keep it up...Howard and Utley are on fire...while Burrell, Abreu and Rowland are struggling

Rollins gets a day off and .462 Alex Gonzalez will start at SS, .571 1 HR Victorino will start for Rowland...Utley will hit 2nd...Howard 5th
It is Lieby's day to sit so Fasano will get a start

Top 1st....
3-0...groove a FB, and Hanley Ramirez hits his 2nd HR of the year

Bottom 1st
Young Josh Johnson throws away an easy play at 1B for Gonzalez
Utley FC
Abreu walks
Burrell K's
Howard walks
Victorino on an 0-2 count, Johnson don't throw near the plate...BAM gotcha...double to LF...3 runs score
Nunez singles, but Fasano lines out on a great play by Cabrera

Bottom 2nd
Alex Gonzalez nails his 2nd HR of the year on a 3-1 FB high and in

Top 3rd

I walk the P!!!!
Ramirez singles Johnson to 3rd...and Cabrera BUNTS...yet Johnson doesn't move...Fasano nails Cabrera at 1st...
man on 2nd and 3rd, my nemesis Mike Jacobs up and Nunez makes a stabbing grab at the line for out 3

Bottom 3rd
Johnson walks Burrell
and hits Howard
but we fail to score...still 4-1 Phillies

Top 4th
Abercrombie K's
Willingham GO-4
Reed doubles
Amezaga doubles but Victorino with a great throw home and Reed goes back to 3rd
I IW Olivio to bring up the P and they don't PH
and Johnson who I wlaked earlier single shome Reed and Amezaga

UGH!

But Lidle K's Hanley Ramirez...now a slim 4-3 lead

Top 5th

Lidle K's Cabrera but Jacobs takes him deep for his 5th HR
Abercrombie singles
Willingham hits his 3rd HR of the year to deep CF
Reed singles and I get Franklin out fo the pen
Reed steals 2nd
Amezaga singles him home and then gets thrown out trying to steal

6-4 Marlins

Bottom 6th
Carlos Martinez Pitching
Fasano GO-3
PH Dellucci then takes Carlos deep for his 2nd HR
Gonzalez singles
Utley K's
Abreu singles
Burrell GO-5

6-5 Marlins

Bottom 9th
Buddy Carlyle stays in even though he pitched the 8th
Utley walksAbreu weak Pop up, way to go All Star
Burrell K's...like no one saw that coming
2 outs, yesterdays hero RYAN HOWARD UP
Ball 1 low and outside

SERIES 7

GAME 1

Ryan Madson (1-0, 10.80, 4 BB, 11 K's) vs. Zach Day (2-1, 4.00, 6 BB, 17 K's)

PRE GAME

Madson has struggled, but he has 4 bb to 11 k's...I need to pitch around more
Again I will bat Utley 2nd and Howard 5th...
Dellucci will start for Burrell in LF
Alex Gonzalez and his hot bat will replace Nunez at 3rd
Zach Day is doing really good considering he pitched in Coors 2x

Top 1st
Sullivan doubles
But Barmes and Helton FO-7
Holliday K's

Bottom 1st
Rollin singles
Utley hits in a DP
But Abreu Homers on a 3-2 count
BACK to BACK as Howard homers in his 3rd straight game
Dellucci singles
Rowand doubles to RF, and Marrero's throw is WAAAY offline as Dellucci scores
But Gonzalez GO-4

so a 3-0 lead

Top 2nd
2 singles by Atkins and Marrero and Ardoin singles home a run

Top 3rd
Barmes FO-2
Helton singles
Dellucci drops and easy flyball by Holliday
Atkins singles up the middle
the bases loaded and Madson unravels and walks Marrero to force a run with 1 out
Luis A Gonzalez with the SF and Ardoin GO-6 to end the inning

3-3 tie

Top 4th
Day FO-7
Sullivan doubles to CF
Barmes GO-5
I IW Helton
Holliday singles up the middle and I am getting deja vu all over again
Bases Loaded 2 outs and Garrett Atkins up...I decide to let Madson have "One More" (Rookie of the Year reference there)
and he gets Atkins to GO back to the P

Bottom 4th
Dellucci walks on 4 straight
Rowand FC, which is ok, because he is faster then Dellucci
Gonzalez singles
Lieberthal singles
I bring in Nunez to PH for Madson and he doesn't do his job, too shallow and then Rollins GO-4...

still 3-3 tie

I bring in Aaron Fultz and his 2.79 ERA for the 5th and possibly 6th

Fultz gets 1-2-3 in the 5th
in the 6th
Sullivan's bunt is no good 3-4 GO
Barmes walks then tries to steal....and gets hurt in the process as well as being thrown out...looked like Rollins slapped him upside the head...jamey Carroll replaces him
and his CS is costly as Helton parks his 4th HR to right for a 4-3 lead

Bottom 6th

Using my bench is my lucky break as Dellucci hits his 3rd HR and in his 2nd straight game...to tie it at 4

Bottom 7th
Sun Woo Kim in his 3rd inning
Rollins GO-5
Utley K
Abreu doubles to CF

They bring in LOOGY Ray King to face Ryan Howard...And Howard singles Abreu to 3rd...Ryan can hit lefties, read a paper CPU!

So I substitute Dellucci with RHer Pat Burrell and he flies out...wasted PH

Top 9th
Rheal Cormier pitching, or as I call him "7-11" cause that is his ERA...blah
Carroll doubles to RF...and Helton is up..he pops up to Lieberthal
Holliday then smacks his 6th HR to LF....Nice Cormier

6-4 Rockies

Bottom 9th
Brian Fuentes to close it out
Rollins walks
Utley walks
Abreu K's....he is irritating me in close games
Howard Full count...smacks it hard...but no...single to CF, no Game winner HR 3 games in a row for Ryan
Burrell FC...but speedy Rollins scores

Men on the corners...2 outs 1 run lead for the Rockies
Aaron Rowand up
0-1
1-1
Oh I get just under it...and FO-7

COL----6 13 0
PHI----5 14 1

PHILADELPHIA AT COLORADO

GAME 3

Jon Lieber (1-2, 3.10, 7/15) vs Jason Jennings (2-0, 3.81, 5/21)

Pre game

Last time these 2 met, Jennings pitched a great game and Lieber was knocked out in 2 IP and Nunez began his decline into losing his 3rd base spot to David Bell, who homered 2x yesterday and is OFFICIALY the 3rd baseman vs RHers and LHers now, as he is hitting .342 with a .684 SLG% (although he is hitting .240 against Rhers, .539 vs LHers)

So Bell will probably bat 7th vs Rhers and 5th versus lefties, giving Howard the #4 hitter some protection

Fasano will catch Lieber per his request, Victorino will give Abreu a rest and Rowand will hit 2nd with Utley 3rd

Bottom 1st

We get on the board quick
Rollins singles
Rowand Homers to LF

Top 5th

Having Fasano catch Lieber made a difference thru 4
Lieber allowed only 2 baserunners on a hit and walk, both were a wash as Ardoin (the slow C) was caught stealing on a failed hit and run and Helton was part of a DP

But in the 5th Lieber walks Atkins and Hawpe back to back
Carroll hits into a DP
Ardoin doubles but slow Atkins can't score from 3rd????
Jennings then meekly GO-3

Top 7th

Lieber throwing a 2 hit SHO, but has walked 4
Again he walks Atkins
Atkins who couldn't score from 3rd on a 2b...this time steals!!! lol
Then Lieber walks Hawpe again...6 walks for Lieber
-Carroll pops up to SS
Ardoin doubles to RF Atkins scores but Victorino and his AWESOME arm nails Hawpe at the plate

Matt Holliday PH's for Jennings...I bring in Cormier, who gets Holliday to fly out to LF

Top 9th

Low scoring 2-1 game...Gordon in to close it out

Hawpe walks for the 3rd time
Carroll singles...ugh
Luis A Gonzalez PHs for Ardoin...who is 3-3 with a rib eye in the game...Some manager is getting fired mid season (I mean before Manuel)

Gonzalez flies out to Victorino who throws it to 3rd OUT...Now, the umps blow the call...Hawpe is SAFE

Choo Freeman with 1 out PHs for David Cortes and K's

2 outs...men on the corners
1-0
2-0
2-1
foul
SIT DOWN CORY SULLIVAN!!!

PHI 2 7 0
COL 1 4 0

D.Ardoin: 3-3, 1 RBI(7) yet is PH with the game on the line
B.Hawpe: 0-1, 3 BBs
J.Jennings: 6IP, 5 HA, 2 ER, 3 BB, 6K's

J.Lieber: 6.2 IP, 3 HA, 1 ER, 6 BB, 5 K
T.Gordon: 1 IP, 1 HA, 1BB, 2 Ks
A.Rowand: 1-4, 1 HR(4), 2 RBI(8), 2 Ks

Imapotato
04-28-2006, 07:34 PM
Abraham Nunez gets a slight tear...I guess from sitting on the bench
So he is on the 15 day DL

Young phenom JT 'Imapotato' Campbell is hitting .321 2 HR with 5 Sb and more importantly he can play C-1b-3b, so a nice role player...he is called up

GAME 4

Brett Myers (2-1, 5.61 ERA, 16/26) vs. Aaron Cook (3-1, 3.42, 5/13)

PRE-GAME

Cook's only loss was against us as we roughed him up badly...and it was one of Myers only good appearances...with only Todd Helton roughing him up

Thru 6

Myers has been lights out, allowing 2 hits, 2 walks and K'ing 8
Cook has been as well...2 hits, 1 walk, 3 K's

A pitching duel at CBP...go figure

That ends in the 7th as Holliday and his league leading .466 BA singles
Then Jamey Carroll hits his 1st HR of the year to LF

Bottom 7th

Burrell hits a LONG BOMB to deep CF for his 3rd HR of the year
Howard reaches 1st on an IF hit to 3rd
Rowand K's
Bell FO-7
and Lieby pops up to the C

TOP 8th

Marrero hits his 3rd HR of the year to make it a 2 run game
Then Helton hits his 5th
And Myers is done for the night, Geary comes in

Bottom 9th

Still a 3 run lead for COL and Cook looks to get the CG
Abreu FO-7
Burrell singles
Howard K's
Rowand hits one to LF....going, going gone! 1 run lead...2 outs
David Bell steps up

It's eerie how close the sim is to the real record...do you think these games have a tendency to inflate the hitting numbers? Even when I use my beloved comp sim baseball mogul 2003 it maximizes their offensive prowess...love the new blue boxes...

The offense seems a bit high but I have guys slumping right now, like Abreu, Rollins, Lieby and Rollins, while guys like Dellucci, Burrell have been on fire

It will even out....especially since Madson and Myers had nice outings to lower their ERA some

The eeriness on how I lose games with a key K or GIDP...or bullpen, starter meltdown is almost true to life

I'm going to do one about my Brewer's season, but I'm not going to do every game.
