I was monitoring the game they played against the Devil Rays on Sunday. What a disgraceful effort. Halladay was breezing through their line-up but he got tired. So what does the manager do? He doesnt recognize that Halladay was spent and left him in there until he gave up all those runs. After that, then he brought in Ryan who, consequently, shut them down. They should have won that game and blew it! Too many times I have seen managers fail to recognize when their pitcher is spent.

Yea look at Prior in the 2003 NLCS. He had like a 10 run lead and was in until the 7th. That was stupid.

I'm certain Gibbons was just trying to rest his bullpen a bit. The Starters haven't done a good job going deep into ball games yet. Generally with Doc on the mound it's a day off for the bullpen.

Exactly. We didn't get to many innings out of Towers, Lily, or Downs that week so the bullpen needed a rest.
