Astroturf Help?

What is it like playing on astroturf? Our highschool team plays a game at Lackawanna Stadium(Scranton/Wilkes-Berre Red Barons AA Phillies affiliate) Normally i play on a hard dirt infield. What would the differences be in hops and speed. Would i play deeper or in farther from first base? Thanks for the advice

Its going to be much quicker that a regular surface. If the surface is wet at all, the ball will skip off the surface and be extremely fast. If its not wet, you will get a "true" hop everytime. You can play a bit deeper than normal in the infield because of the speed.

Thanks alot, hopefully it will be a nice day out. Im guessing youve had a couple experiences on astro turf. Did you ever play at Lackawanna in the minors? AKA: The Mini-Vet (not a good name to have)
