Had to pick Busch... Too young for Sportsman's, and don't have tickets to see a game in New Busch until the fall. I do think I will like the new park a lot, though.

Busch II. It's hard to let go.
But the 3rd version is forcing me to change my mind.

even though the cardinals moved out fifteen years before i was born, i'm going to pick sportsman's park. i enjoy reading about baseball history, and even more about cardinals' history. a lot of great things happened at sportsman's park. it was a hell of a place to watch a game.

I've always been partial to Robison Park, where the Cards used to play at the corner of Vandeventer Avenue and Lexington Avenue. Lots of history there, before the Cards decided to go all modern and build Sportsman's Park.

KMOV.com (St. Louis CBS station) has a Busch Stadium cam on their site, and I really like how it's looking. It looks a little like Camden Yards/Turner Field. I'll beat CubsHub to the pictures, and here's a cam:
http://www.kmov.com/stadiumcam/lg640.htm - oh look, they got the lights in, as of 7:49 PM CST.

It was called Robison Field. They played there from 1899-1920. The land is occupied by Beaumont High School..

Sportsman's Park, got to see games there during its final 5 seasons. Nothing compares to the true old classic pasrk like Sportsman's, Tiger, Comiskey, Wrigley.
Busch Stadium #2 was a bit of a disapointment to me. It was all concrete and until about 83, had these horrible earthtone colored seats throughout the place. After the sunlight faded them, they looked pink. The outfield walls were a drab grayish green color then and then they stuck the Astroturf in 1970. Thankfully, in the 80's they added the red seats and started putting more color into the place, finally put grass back in 96 and yanked out some of the upper deck outfield seats to put in a giant scoreboard in CF. Busch really looked best during its final 10 seasons.

When I started watching the Cardinals they were playing in Sportsman's Park, though by that time it had been renamed Busch Stadium. And of course, when I was a kid the Cardinals won a World Series at the old Busch (1964). So for sentimental value, I pick Sportsman's Park/Busch I.

I drove by the new stadium a few days ago (happily in town from Indy) and it looks fantastic. I received a letter from the Cards yesterday, detailing the location of my "brick" with my name on it, outside right field off Broadway. As Sportmans Park and Busch Stadium never had a brick with my name on it outside the stadium......
Can I change my vote!!
In all serousness, the Park is going to be wonderful. I feel I will remember Busch fondly, but not miss it one bit!! But man oh man, highway 40 is CLOSE!!!!
