Did it ever happened before?

I want to ask that since some amateur players will be straightly brought to Majors after draft, like Winfield & Olerud, did any team ever put draftees on their AA teams in the first year? (I found all draftees played their first season in SS, Rookie or A Leagues)

Last year, the Nationals sent Ryan Zimmerman to Harrisburg. He did play a few warm-up games at low Class A Savannah, though. So did he go straight to Class AA? Technically, no.

I'm sure there have been many, its just very difficult to check players' minor league stats...
