can anyone tell me a little about baseball in tacoma, washington from say 1860-90 - or lead me to a web site - trying to get some background info - first pro league a tacoma team joined - the minor league encyclopedia says 1892 but what was going on in the 1880s - thanks

The first professional game in Tacoma was on May 3, 1890. The league (The Pacific Northwest League of Professional Baseball Players) was formed about a month earlier and included teams from Seattle, Portland and Spokane Falls. Seattle defeated Tacoma 7-6. The ballpark was located at 11th and L in what is known as the Hilltop area of present day Tacoma.
I have a newspaper article from the May 3, 1990 Morning News Tribune written by J Michael Kenyon that gives the details about the game.
