--The clocking is now ticking on the various phases of off season player movement. The timeline'
1) The non-tender period is now active. Your only opportunity to release players without them counting against your 1962 salary cap has begun. The deadline for submitting non-tenders is Midnight EST, Thursday March 23. I'll provide current 1962 rosters in the next post. Non-tendered players will be available to be bid on in the secondary FA auction.
2) The rookie draft will commence at 9PM EST on Friday, March 24. The first three rounds will be conducted live. If you can't be there please get a draft list to me or another proxy prior to the draft commencing.
2a) The draft will continue through Midnight EST on Thursday, March 30. Draft window for rounds 4-? will allow for a 12 hour window to pick. When your 12 hours is up you will be presumed to have passed on that pick. Any players not picked in the draft will move to the secondary FA auction along with the non-tendered players.
3) The Premium Free Agent auction will commence at 12:01 AM EST on Friday, March 31. Multiple bids per posts are okay until the last hour of the draft when there will be a limit of one bid per post. The PFA auction will end at 11 PM EST on March 31.
4) The Secondary Free Agent auction will commence at 12:01 AM on April 01. It will conclude at 11 PM EST on Monday, April 3. Same bidding rules apply.
5) Profiles are due by Midnight EST on April 10. That will also be the deadline for any trades or other moves you want to be in effect for the first series of the season.
6) Opening day will be Thusrday, April 13.

This is from post #727 from the DM Classic League Draft Thread, Page 30.
The Quakers, Gamblers, Hard Cider announce a 3-team trade where:
Quakers get:
Jim Maloney
Gamblers 1965 1st round pick
Gamblers get:
Jim Kaat
Joe Koppe
Hard Cider get:
Ernie Banks
Tommy Davis
Quakers '62/'63 2nd round picks
His own '62 2nd round pick back from Gamblers

I suspect most of the difference in our figures is that you haven't applied your raises in your figure. Everyone who got an AB or PA for the Redbirds in 1961 is due a 250K raise. Mark: You listed my roster players who aren't in the game next year as Bruckbauer, Buchek, Kluszewski, Spout, Kirk, and Roof.
Of those guys, I don't see Bruckbauer, Sprout, or Kirk on my roster anywhere, and I don't remember ever having any of them. Am I wrong? If I am, non-tendered.
Other non-tenders:
Buchek
Kluszewski

Jim Donohue

I am trying to get the DM rosters to duplicate the rosters displayed in the roster thread, including any players on a roster in the thread who AREN'T in the 1962 DM database. I have some discrepancies, and am hoping Mark or perhaps the team owner can help me figure this out. Mark, I don't know if your roster has these problems or not. I went through the Trade Block and Off Season threads, making all trades/releases indicated, but still had some problems. I am assuming everyone except El Halo and Chris (Cannons) has updated their roster thread!!
Diablos: Roster thread has Phil Roof (c) and Chuck Essegian (OF), who are not on the DM roster. DM roster shows Jerry Kindall (2B), who is not listed on the roster thread. Shold Essegian and Roof go into the DM roster and Kindall be removed?
Knights: List Don Elston both on the 25 man roster and in the minors (if you want to clone someone, Mark, I'd go with Mays!:laugh ). Otherwise all is OK.
SKipjacks: OK
Gamblers: OK (Had to make some promotions/demotions).
Hard Cider: Had to assign to DM roster (listed in roster thread but I didn't have them in DM - all minor league assignments): Don Pavletich; Johnny Goryl; Walt Bond (took some moves - somehow was on the Senators); Gary Kolb; Lee Stange; John Tsitouris; Bob Duliba). More importantly, Mac, you traded for Lou Clinton with JW, but he doesn't show on your roster in the thread (he does show on your DM roster). Do you still have him, or did you release him? If you released him already, I missed that post.
Quakers:Had to assign to DM roster (listed in roster thread, not in DM): Joe Azcue; George Alusik; Charlie Maxwell; Ike Delock; Dom Zanni (again, all minor leaguers). No other problems found.
Redbirds: Had to assign following players to DM roster, listed on roster thread, not in DM: Diomedes Olivo; Bill Tuttle. More importantly, Scott, you show Bobby Shantz on your roster (the roster thread), but you traded him to Mac and he is also on Mac's roster. However, you traded for Al Umbricht, who DOES appear on the DM roster, but not in the roster thread. Perhaps you forgot to remove Shantz and add Umbricht to your roster thread?
Cannons: Chris, did the best I could by entering the info from the Trade Block and Off-Season threads, and deleting your drops from your roster thread roster. My DM roster shows you with a total at this time of 33 players; your roster thread shows 39 (actually, 36. You have Orlando Pena listed three times and Tex Clevenger twice). The following players are still on your roster thread, but NOT on the DM roster: Orlando Pena; Gus Bell; Bob Lillis; Carroll Hardy. Should they be added to the DM roster, or did you drop them somewhere along the line and I missed it? Also, Frank Lary IS listed on the DM roster, but IS NOT on your roster thread. Should he be removed from the DM roster?
Thanks to all for your help.

--Well those are alot of discrepancies. Some of it may be that the copy of the DM file I sent Lew was prior to any non-tenders and some trades. Much of it is people not keeping up their roster thread. One thing to note from all this is Lee Stange was in the rookie draft file, but actually was drafted by Mac in 1961 and so is not eligible. The other things are things I'd like to get clarified sooner rather than later, but shouldn't be a factor for tonight's draft.

Lew, this is my fault for not updating my roster page. Sorry about that. I just fully updated it. I now have 35 players, they're all shown over there. Gus Bell and Carroll Hardy were on my non-tender list. They're no longer on my team. I don't know why Lillis and Pena aren't on my DM roster. --Pena wasn't in the game in 1961. He is on the Cannons current DM roster. I think some of the discrepancies in your DM data base may be fromt he method you used to shift players from 61 to 62 Lew. Migration would have missed any players drafted but not active in real baseball in 61.

Mark - I'm sure that's part of it. Also, I think the fact that some players were drafted last year who weren't in DM, and didn't get onto the DM rosters, played a part. Since six of the teams were OK (counting the REdbirds), that's only three with discrepancies, and Mac's is minor; I think he forgot to put Clinton on his roster after the trade, but I did it in DM). the only real issues were ElHalo's and Chris's, and only because they hadn't updated their rosters on the roster thread, so I wasn't sure what I was comparing to!
Scott - That's pretty much what I figured when I saw the discrepancies. You should be OK now.
Chris - OK, I'll go in and compare again, but I think I had it pretty close.
If I have Chris's OK after checking again, that only leaves the small problem with Clinton not showing on the Hard Cider roster thread, and the discrepanies on ElHalo's team (Essegian and Roof on roster thread but not on DM roster; Kindall on DM roster, but not on thread).
Mark, if you'd like, I'll mail you a copy of the file once I get it accurate. I plan on adding the rookies during the draft tonight, so it should then be right up to date.

--Roof, like Pena, was not in the 61 program. Unlike Pena, he isn't in the 1962 program either. Roof will be a phantom until 1964.
--Essegan does show on the Diablos roster in my version of DM. He was a split squad guy in 61, with multiple versions in the program. That may have caused a problem with the migration. I can't say for sure because I've never done a migration myself. That won't be an issue next year since I learned a little and deleted all the partial season versions of split season players before getting started on the 62 season.

Anyway, if you look at the 1966 draft, there isn't awhole lot to choose from, and Chris usually finishes so high it won't be much of a pick. And he had what - five - shortstops to trade. I have the DM Classic Keeper League web site operating now. I hope that it appears OK in everyone's browser. I tested it with IE6 and Firefox, and it looked OK on both of those. Eventually, I hope to have everyone's salary sheet up on the site, too. Haven't gotten that far yet, though.
The main screen has small logos of each CKL team in the upper left area. If you click on a logo, the team's batting and pitching stats will come up. These include: team batting report; team pitching report; batter usage report; pitcher usage report; the team roster report with the team's batter and pitcher ratings; fielding ratings; team fielding report; and team game results.
In the center of the main screen, there are three labels that are pretty self explanatory:
League Standings - clicking on this will bring up the normal standings report, along with a wild card report, a couple of expanded reports (home/away; grass/turf; vs LH/vs RH; division/interleague; results after 7 innings; extra innings; 1-run games), and a team vs team report.
Team Totals - Clicking on this will bring up a report showing the team totals for batting, pitching and fielding.
Game Results - Clicking on this will bring up the league's game results. I'm not sure, but I think once we have some games played, if you click on a game's result, it will bring up the box score.
That's it for the top half. Now, if you scroll down, the bottom half has several tags. These, again, are mostly self explanatory:
Current Injuries - Brings up a list of currently injured players, with duration and return.
Keeper League Rules - Brings up the league rules.
Keeper League Free Agents - Brings up a list of the currently available free agents, with their primary stats.
League Leaders - Clicking on batter or pitcher will bring up a list of the current league leaders in numerous categories, and I think I set up the report to list the top 15 in each. BTW, if you see a category missing that you would like included (and if the game has it), let me know. I customized the reports to leave out a lot of stuff that I don't normally look at, but that might interest some of you.
League Main Index - This will bring up a menu (of sorts), that basically lists all of the reports available, including team reports. The links are all active. I listed this in case some of you find it easier than using the labels on the main page.
Encyclopedia - This will eventually be a league history. This link is not currently active, as I haven't gotten that far in the game (but I will shortly). It will only have last year's reports for now anyway, but Mark and I will keep it up from year to year, and eventually it should prove very interesting.
HERE (http://www.geocities.com/lougehrig24/) is the link to the CKL home page. I hope you all find this site useful, and if you think something should be added, let me know.

--That is another issue you failed to address Chris. He was not listed on your roster page, but was on your team in DM last time I posted the team rosters. I asked you about it (he and Dick LeMay both), but you never answered. LeMay was non-tendered, he should be off my team. Yost was always on my team (I am planning on using him as a pinch hitter in '62), and if he wasn't listed on my roster page that was probably just temporary when I was fixing something.
If I need to cut someone I'll cut Bob Lillis (.25).

--Okay, the Cannons roster is now frozen at 40. You have no cap room to sign anybody else. You also can't make a trade unless it reduces your total payroll. This your roster up to date and ready to be copied into the program?

Just one problem, I was looking at the free agents and realize you have Eddie Yost listed. He's on my team.
Chris - The problem would have been created when Mark removed Yost from your roster. I receive the league files from Mark, since it is required that the commissioner makes all roster moves for the league so that league rosters don't become jumbled. Then, once I have the file from Mark, I load it into my copy of DM9, generate the files for the website and upload them. If Mark now has added Yost to your roster, that problem should be resolved the next time I receive an updated league file from Mark and upload the info to the site. If the problem persists, I'll have to PM Mark and figure it out, but I completely expect it to be gone.:D
