Let's hope that our grapefruit record will not reflect 2006

Spring Training records usually are nothing- Kansas City had the best record one year, and look at them!
Any standings that has Tampa Bay ahead of the Nats is bogus.

Grapefruit league is hardly a reflection of anything. We use a lot of scrubs in these games and look who has the best record (Marlins are 8-2)

Nothing to be worried about. Spring Training records mean nothing. The Expos actually had the best Spring Training record in 2004.

Remember that they have 6 players away from the team in the WBC right now. Besides, remember that ST isnt about wins and losses. Its about the players working out the kinks, loosening up, and getting back into game shape, so that when April 3 rolls around, they are ready for action.

Folks, we all know what happened this offseason. It is far more
likely we will sleeping with the Fishes than flying with the Braves
and Mets this year. We are and should not be content with losing,
but if we are true Nats fans, we have to be prepared to stick with
our team win or lose.

P.S. BTW, Wilk---there's something about Mark Lerner that you will definitely like (assuming he will be the new owner)---he's a
minority owner of the Washington Capitals!

Except that Ted Lerner is the ownership candidate for the Nationals.

Then bring him on!
I hope he become our owner! (It's obvious as to why.)
P.S I am not a Caps fan, only Ovechkin fan! :D

What Eddie says bears much merit. Should Ted Lerner get the team, son Mark will be quite involved in it's operation. Then look for Mark to take the reins in the years to come.

I was under the mistaken impression that Mark Lerner was
going to be the owner. (Probably because it was Mark, and
not Ted, who was spotted talking with Trader Jim last week.)
Still, we should brace ourselves for the fact that we probably
won't be as good in 2006 as we were for most of 2005. However,
this year we should be able to make a few moves late in the
season. But there were will so much to do with the new stadium,
MASN, and marketing the team, that I don't think trying to make
a pennant run should be our top priority.

Spring training is just a bunch of exhibition games played by minor leaugers trying to make the roster. The star players just fool around, its like a vacation sort of. Its only important to pitchers who have to get there arm ready for the year. But Spring training records has no effect on the regular season.

We just dropped another one, so let's hope our regular season record is a little better. BTW, since Wilk has taken liberties with the Nats' and Expos' logos, I've decided to do the same with the Habs' famous CH!
