Any rookies out there expected to get a starting job with their team that look good enough to win a ROY?

I'm hoping Zimmerman can contend for it, but he doesn't hit many HRs (which wow and amaze fans) but rather a lot of doubles.

I think Kinsler will get the starting job in Texas and will win the AL ROY.

There are a couple rookies in Florida that should start and do decent this year... (Willingham at C and Hermida at RF) Prince Fielder in Milwaukee should do OK too.

Brian Anderson will be the starting center fielder for the white sox. He's a pretty good prospect, but I don't think he'll win ROY.

I'm curious to see if Jon Papelbon can have the huge season that many are predicting him to have. The only problem is that he'll be contending with six other, mostly veteran pitchers for a job in the starting rotation, which means he might start the season in Pawtucket.

In addition to Fielder, Zimmerman, and kinsler, look for mike jacobs in Florida to put up some good numbers. Delmon young should also put up spme stats if the lineup around him continues to develope.

I doubt Young will see much action in Tampa. Hollins and Gathright don't seem to be going anywhere tradewise, Badalli is healthy again, Crawford is an all-star quality OF, and Jonny Gomes is emerging as a great DH.Only way I see Young starting is if Travis Lee gets injured and Huff has to move to 1B leaving RF open.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Matt Cain give it a good run in the N.L.

I think Hermida's the favorite in the NL, though Carlos Quentin could give him some competition if he gets to play. In the AL I think Delmon Young will be up by the all-star break and do very well for a 20 year-old, but not enough to win ROY. I think it's an easy call for Francisco Liriano if he gets put in the rotation. He was just sick in AAA last year. 112 k's and a 1.78 ERA in 91 innings. In the big leagues he struck out 33 and walked only 7 in 24 innings. I expect him and Felix Hernandez to be competing with Johan Santana for Cy Youngs within a couple of years. Howie Kendrick of the Angels could probably outproduce Adam Kennedy right now, but the Angels are going to go slow with him.

Jeremy Hermidia, never seen the guy's face, but what I've heard and read about him in baseball prospects books, and XM homeplate, he really sounds like hes the main contender. Brian Anderson certainly has a chance too, because having a starting job, he will get the most at bats.

Papelbon. For once I agree with Schilling; Papelbon should be a starter. I was lucky enough to see him pitch live in Fenway last year. He's gonna be another Clemens. I believe he will be on the roster, maybe long relief, but in Boston.

His spring has started off great hitting and fielding. 2 HRs over the weekend, 2 RBI in Sunday's game. A spectacular fielding play to boot. He seems to have picked up where he left off:

I've heard good things about this kid Verlander in Detroit. He blew away minor league hitting and is now probably going to crack the starting five in Detroit.
