It was ok, but not in my top 5, or maybe even 10.

It was a decent movie, and anything with John C. Reilly in it will have its moments.
Has anyone read the book. The author, Michael Shaara, is a Pulitzer Prize winner, winning it for his fictionalized novel on the Battle of Gettysburg, "The Killer Angels" where the Ted Turner film came from. Shaara did a good job in humanizing the "characters" in that book while not being terribly inaccurate.

Just take comfort in the fact that for all the hoopla he received for Pulp Fiction, he was still killed as he got distracted by a store brand pop tart.

I love "For the Love of the Game" if only because of Vin Scully and Kevin Costner. :clapping

I saw it a few years back, and I thouht it was decent. A great movie? No...but certainly entertaining and I think they did a good job of showing a great player at the end, when their body is giving out on them and they're faced with the mortality of their careers.
