Not a change that I like. :ughh Real BLUE fans know our players by their numbers, OR, they're willing to look up the rookies or recent call-ups. I like the idea of no names because the only names that should matter are "Dodgers" on our home unis and "Los Angeles" on our roads. Any thoughts?

Here's the scoop: http://insidethedodgers.mlblogs.com/my_weblog/2006/02/back_by_popular.html

Hmmm...46 years with names on the back compared to two without.

I sorta liked the no-names deal, but with all the minor leaguers being called up, it was difficult to keep up with the names and numbers.

That's good news.

The Dodgers added names in the mid-1970s. Sandy Koufax and Don Drysdale among others never wore jerseys with names on them.

Now you're talkin'.

As I said, if a fan wants to know badly enough who a guy is, they'll either buy a program, ask around, or memorize the roster.

Plus, how cool is it to be at the ballpark, watch a young kid lace a liner or strike someone out, and then ask, "Who's that guy?" :D

I noticed that as soon as I hit "post."

Anyway, as long as the team colors and logo remain the same, it doesn't matter what's on the back. Isn't that what Tommy said?
