The REDS led the league in runs last year, they then went out and improved the lineup. Signing Dunn is a smart move,Kearns has something to prove over a full season and the staff can not be anything but better. Club went 46 and 46 under Narron and the Stros, Cards and Cubs don't frighten me. 79 wins last year could be 91 or 92 this year and that could do it in the Central. Hope so anyway, gotta love the spring!

ah, the eternal optimism of spring training.
and i still think that if Aurilia and Womack both see more than 90 games in the field this year, the Reds will allow 1,000+ runs.

In The Sporting News the Reds got 1 star.
Here is what it said:
In terms of upgrading the talent on the roster, it was a bad offseason for Cincinnati. Aside from the addition of Williams, a pitching staff in need of an extreme makeover was only tweaked. The Reds never landed a top-end starting pitcher or an established closer. The only plus to losing Sean Casey is it allows Adam Dunn to move to first base, which opens left field for Wily Mo Pena and right field for Austin Kearns, both of whom finally will get to play every day.

Claussen,Hrang and Milton are a very promising top 3 and if Kearns and Pena and Encarnacion put up numbers Jr could be available for a big price. I feel like he is (Jr) a little bit more than on the block. When Hatcher was chosen over Sr as first base coach it seemed like a message .

Claussen,Hrang and Milton are a very promising top 3 the same Eric Milton who has the degnerative knee condition that gets worse with age and use?
When Hatcher was chosen over Sr as first base coach it seemed like a message .yeah, that Pinella's going to be managing the Reds in 07.

Just seeing Pinella in the organization would be nice.

That pitching staff doesn't scare anyone but the fans.

I love the Reds, but I dont see them winning any more than 70-75 this year.
