I'm sitting at my boring 9-5 job and wondering how I would get through the day without Baseball-Fever.
It got me thinking, how many of us access B-F at work while we are supposed to be "working". :atthepc

My day can't be complete without BBF.;)

I access, since many times, there are many things that need to be taken care of that I have to complete after I leave home.
If it's frentic and I'm working non-stop, there's no time unless I choose to eat my sandwich when I get home and post on my lunch time.
So long as I don't post when I'm in the middle of a deadline job that's highly intensive, I'm fine.

I do it in the middle of my bio and chem lectures, and occasionally sign in during lab time.

Unfortunately, there is no time to check BBF while teaching 21 sixth graders. I have no computer in my classroom, and have to eat with my students during lunch.

There needs to be a place for those who work out of their home.
I'm an attorney, but places like this were a real blessing when I faced some burnout and had to cut back. Still, even then I only did so rarely - I have always been a sole practitioner, and never even had the money to afford my own secretary.
Now, I just do a few estates and such, and am taking masters courses via correspondence course for a change in professions.
So, I do technically access from work b/c it's my office and I do so during breaks.

My mom is a teacher, so right after school I go to her classroom and check out BBF.

I would, but I can't...now that I think about it, I probably could, but I better not chance it.

If it's slow, I'll log in and see what's up. Otherwise, if there is breaking news, I'll try to sign in and post info if someone else hasn't already done so. But the owner of my company is pretty cool, so I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal considering one of our clients is the AAA team here in Tucson. ;)

Not work, but uni - in fact, I'm sitting in a management science lecture right now!
...How management science fits into a maths degree I'm not sure, but there you go.

I only have internet access at work. Does that answer your question? ;)
Seriously, my first half hour in the office consists of a routine of checking out my favourite forums and web sites before I start doing anything else... My firefox settings have BBF as one of my 5 home pages that open simultaneously, the other ones being, Braves Home page, The Greek Baseball Forum (http://greekbaseball.proboards37.com/), Yahoo Mail, and a digital photography website.

thats pretty much how it is for me. i do check in in the morning usually, but like this past week if i am in a push mode then i hardly get on. and will work through lunch.
that rarely happens though, so i have time to check on things occasionally.

I wish! Our computer at work doesn't even get e-mail; it's so old that when they tried to install an e-mail program it crashed the system. :hp
I sure would, if I could. Far better to talk baseball than deal with people who are sucker enough to pay $200 for a pair of pillowcases.

Whoa, what kind of system is that?! Considering I have heard of people accessing the Web through a Commodore 64 back around 2000 (ridiculously slow but somehow they did it, if it wasn't just a fish story), it's hard to comprehend one that slow.

On it right now, but the indiscretion is a little different when you work for MLBAM.

I don't have a job, but I do check Baseball Fever forum from a computer in the library in my college during my hour and fourty minute break between my Public Speaking and Economics class.

I wish somebody would have told me I didn't need to have a job just because I was in college.:D
I'm not being judgmental at all blackout, its just my jealousy rearing its ugly head.

damn you blackout805!!!! I am so jealous of your youthful no-work policy while in school. BUT one day...one day you will also fall prey to working for 'the man' :hp
can you tell, it's jealousy out here rearing its ugly head all the way from seattle, wa!
just wait. one day your metabolism will slow and hair will grow in strange places. mark my words!

I no longer work as I'm back at school, but I used to access BBF quite regularly at work. In fact, if not for work, I probably wouldn't be addicted to BBF like I am because I wouldn't have needed something like BBF to get me through the workday (which was often, very, very long)

After some thought, I've decided that this thread should go under the "Web Improvements" section. It's more of a "water cooler" thread about the forum itself, rather than baseball itself.

I work a weekend job (in addition to a full time job) dispatching for a home heating oil delivery and burner service company. I have to be sitting at my desk ready to answer the phone for an 8 hour stretch so I figure that logging in to BBF.com when things aren't busy is a well-deserved perk.

If school counts as work, the answer is yes. Unless you mean instead of doing what you're supposed to be doing. Because I only use BBF during free times and at home.
