Garciaparra is not coming to play for Mexico. Edgar Gonzalez, Loaza, Adrian Gonzalez, Castilla, Cantu and a few others MLguers already comitted to play for Mexico.

I have read comments from the Mexican manager that this will be his line-up for the first game against the USA:
Gerónimo Gil (C), Adrián González (1B), Jorge Cantú (2B), Oscar Robles (SS), Vinicio Castilla (3B) and outfielders Karim García, Luis Alfonso García and Luis Carlos García. Erubiel Durazo, with 94 HR in the majors will DH. 2005 15 game winner RHP Rodrigo López will start the first game.

I really think that Mexico is an underdog, Baseball is the second most popular sport in Mexico.
