The Washington Nationals today sold the contract of Jamey Carroll to the Colorado Rockies for $300,000.00. Nationals Vice President and General Manager Jim Bowden made the announcement.

"I'd like to thank Jamey for his long-standing and numerous contributions to the Nationals/Expos franchise," said Bowden. "During his time here, Jamey was the ultimate teammate, whose integrity and work ethic were contagious. We wish Jamey and his family nothing but the best."

Carroll hit .251 in 113 games last season for Washington. However, with the acquisitions of middle infielders Royce Clayton, Marlon Anderson, Damian Jackson, as well as the emergence of Brendan Harris, Carroll became expendable.

That count would take to long. Here is a better question:

Who here thinks Bowden isn't a NUT?

Too bad. Jamey will be missed. You could always count on seeing him signing autographs before games. He would talk to you, too. Great team ballplayer, great work ethic.

Good luck, Jamey.

Best of luck to Jamey in Coors Field

Damn you Bowden. According to FR Jamey will make a great manager one day. So maybe we haven't seen the last of Jamey Carrol.

Also, is it just me or do we lose a lot of players to the Rockies? Recently we've had Day, Ohka, and now Carroll go over there plus some big names in the 90s like Larry Walker, too.
