Glavine has never earned more than 22 wins in a season, and he's 25 shy of 300. It's hard to envision any scenario in which he notches 25 Ws in 2006, but it's at least a mathematical possibility

Well at least 13 this year and 12 next year and #300 is in the bag.

22 would be pushing it a bit...Even with luck, 15 - 20 would be
nice..

If Glavine pitches similar to the way he pitched the second half last year, with the assumed improved offense and bullpen, 15-17 wins this season is very reasonable. If Glavine gets to 289 or so, I don't see any way he will retire before he accumulates thos last 10 - 11 wins, even if he plays 2 more seasons after 2006. 22 wins in '06 will not happen.

Glavine said he'll definitely go after 300. He's probably gonna do it late next season (07), or early - mid 08.

It'd be nice if he did get it with the Mets, but still, he was a BRAVE!!!! I don't know if he can even get 25 wins in 2 years.

Why cann't he? He won 13 last year with a horrible Mets' bullpen and offense. Glavine is very focused, and has seemed to find some confidence with his breaking ball. I would be suprised if he didn't get 25 wins the next 2 seasons.

Agreed... 25 in 2 season is very do-able for Glavine...

There is no reasonable scenario by which Glavine wins 25 games this year. In the last 56 seasons (1950 to-date) no pitcher has done this when he gets 33 starts or less. Further, no pitcher in the history of the game has ever done it who has fewer than 10 complete games.

He needs to stay healthy for the next two seasons.

With the much improved lineup his win totals should definitely increase. But, I think he's beyond that point in his career where he is capable of putting up 20+ wins. He should get to 300 by the end of his career however.

I never realized Glavine was so close. Go for it, Tom!!!

300 in '07 is reasonable and achievable..Even if he was a Brave, it would
still be nice to see him get that magic 300...

Amazin!!! Simply Amazin!!!!
