Philles Interested In Piazza

ESPN is reporting that the Phillies and former Mets C Mike Piazza are now in "preliminary talks". The Phillies would expect Piazza to spell current backstop Mike Lieberthal about three days a week. Toronto, San Diego, Baltimore, Anahiem and the Yankees have expressed mild interest, as well as Tampa Bay and the Indians having internal discussions. Piazza is said to be looking for a seven to eight million dollar contract.
