I found this book on my dad's bookshelf about a week ago. It's by W.P. Kinsella, and it's a collection of baseball stories. If you haven't read it, read it just for the "Searching for January" story. It's about Roberto Clemente, and IMO, it's one of the best pieces of baseball literature out there. Has anybody else read it, and what are your thoughts on the book?

Kinsella is one of my favorite authors. I guess that he has retired from writing. His short stories are excellent. The other compilations are The Further Adventures of Slugger McBat [I]and [I]The Thrill of the Grass.

Agreed, I too found it on my dad's bookshelf a few years ago. I liked "Searching for January," as well as "The Fadeaway" with Christy Mathewson. Overall, a very good book, certainly worth reading.
