I recieved my new issue of Sports Weekly yesterday. In it was a letter from the editor stating that they had decided to add NASCAR to the coverage. If any of you have seen (or look right now at) my signature, you can tell my feelings about car racing. Is anyone else upset by this? How do we start a petition to send to Sports Weekly to give them a piece of our minds on this? I want to keep my subscription because of the baseball coverage they offer, and I like football, but this is an outrage.

if a company is not working to maximize its profits and minimize its costs, then the people who depend on it for their salary and benefits to feed their family will eventually be out of a job - the outrage would be better directed at baseball fans for their failure to support such periodicals

NASCAR!!?? :grouchy Are you serious??
I was a loyal Baseball Weekly subscriber but after it went to football/baseball, I let the subscription run out.
Baseball/Football/NASCAR?? I mean, that is a helluva weird combination. At that point, why don't they just make it all sports?

Just give them time, before long baseball will be reduced to a couple of meaningless pages.

I gave up on Sports Weekly a long time ago. When they started headlining pre-season football when the baseball season was just turning down the stretch... that was the end of it.
NASCAR! Of at the damn fool things....
I wish Baseball Fever had a weekly magazine, so I could take it everywhere, read it at work, out in the sunshine, in a waiting room....

When I started this thread, I forgot to mention that there was an email address that you could write to to express your feelings. I just moved, so it is packed away in a box, but i'll find it ASAP and email them. Let me know if you want the address too. I just re-upped my subscription for another year last month, so I suppose I'll stick it out and see if I like what they keep for the baseball portion.

Add my name to the list of those who let my subscription run out. I was really ticked off when they added football. It's not like the true football fans read anyway. I picked up a few issues last July, but realized my mistake when the coverage of the top DB's was longer than that of baseball. The preseason hadn't even started yet. The main problem with Baseball America is that it is a few weeks behind.

I'd rather be considered arrogant than spend an afternoon breathing carbon monoxide and watching cars drive around in a circle.

I used to subscribe to Baseball Weekly, but didn't renew when it became Sports Weekly. I'd rather watch the dullest MLB game than the most exciting NFL game.

Ok, here is the email the editors of Sports Weekly (soon to be "No one cares about baseball Weekly") gave for readers to voice their opinions:
sportsweekly@usatoday.com
I'll be sending some emails.

Thanks for the info. We all need to send e-mails and express our thoughts on the subject.

Baseball Weekly was a great publication. Sports Weekly is just another publication. But in many ways the internet, this very site, helped to kill Baseball Weekly.

I emailed Sports and Car Racing Weekly almost two weeks ago. I do believe the editors said in there announcement that "we should tell them our thoughts and they would respond." Well, they haven't responded to me. And I just recieved my new issue today. Apparently the letters that were sent in (and I have no clue how many have been sent) have had no affect on the minds of those people, because there was a full page ad telling readers that NASCAR coverage will be coming in two weeks. Oh, well.
