Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Mets have avoided salary arbitration with starting pitcher Victor Zambrano and infielder/outfielder Chris Woodward.

Zambrano, a right-hander, was 7-12 with a 4.17 earned run average in 31 games, 27 starts, last season. His deal is reportedly worth $3 million.

The 2005 campaign was Zambrano's first full season with the Mets after being acquired from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays prior to the trade deadline in 2004.

The 30-year-old is 44-39 with a 4.38 ERA in 169 career games, 91 starts.

Woodward will reportedly make $825,000. He played in 81 games a season ago, hitting .283 with three homers and 18 RBI while playing all four infield positions and all three outfield spots.

GOOD! I like Woodward, he is a solid backup, and an excellent pinch hitter.
