it has been proposed... is just that is hard to find a mechanism, since the dominicans that get signed i.e., don't go to college or school... they're just seeing playing in a ballpark, and get signed... then they go to a academy, but their already commited to a team

There is no way that the Baseball Union will support an International Draft or allow foreign players to joing the existing Draft. Free agency drives prices up including those in the draft. Baseball agents do not want a draft either so they will tell their clients to strike.


Either you should make a draft for everyone or allow everyone to be a free agent. It would be fair to American, Canadian and Puertorican players who are subject to the draft.
