I was just wondering what all your thoughts on Placido are. He's become my favorite Tiger since coming over, and I love his attitude and work ethic.
Just hoping to hear everybody else thoughts on him!

I think you guys were lucky to get him. I totally agree with you on his attitude. Any word on the effect he's had on others in the Tiger clubhouse?

A good guy and a decent player. If you don't get you hopes any higher than "average hitter" you will like him. Afterall he is a 2B.

I would like to see him at shortstop. I have heard that it is hard to convert from 2B to SS, but if he did change without trouble he could become a great SS.

I thought Carlos Guillen was all the rage. Did I miss something?

Well, Guillen is very injury prone. I would like to see him traded. In the Current Events section I proposed this trade: Guillen and Granderson for Manny.

Yeah, I saw that. I'm not too sure what I would do with that one.

One problem the Tigers lack is a good lead-off hitter, Guillen gets hurt too easily, and somebody like Johnny Damon for a leadoff hitter, or a good pitching and bullpen staff may not be bad at all. Polanco has helped the Tigers a lot, and I'd like to see how he fares this upcoming season.
I hope the Tigers finish over .500 this or next season.

I really like Polanco. I was a bit skeptical last season when we traded for him, but mostly because I believed that he would bolt after the season and we'd really get nothing in return for Urbina. Luckily he re-signed and had a great year, and hopefully he will continue to hit well.
I'm not sure about moving him to SS, although I think he's good enough defensively to handle it. I'd rather trade for a SS or use Infante there, and move Guillen to third. As bad as Guillen's knee is, I'd still rather have his bat than that of Inge's. He's simply too light and inconsistent of a hitter to be a long-term choice there. At least, that is, if he want to be contenders someday soon.

How is Guillen's knee holding up? I haven't heard anything of it lately, so I'm assuming that "no news is good news" in this case.
I really wouldn't want to move Polanco to shortstop. Unless he has expressed the desire or willingness to move, I don't believe in moving a player out of his position.
