i am looking for a strictly baseball magazine and i am not sure what to order. I have not received baseball digest in years and i don't remember liking it but i was wondering if it changed or if you guys know any other good baseball magazines.

Baseball America is probably the best all baseball periodical available today. It is newspaper format and comes out bi-weely during the season and monthly during the winter. Good coverage of the minor leagues, college and some High School. If you also get Sports Weekly especially during the season, you get pretty complete coverage.

It's the Society for American Baseball Research. I agree it's money well spent, I am also a member. It will give you access to many old newspapers including the New York Times.

with sabr you have free access to proquest which allows you to search newspapers that are older than the national league:

boston globe
ny times
la times
atlanta something (constitution maybe)
chicago tribune
chicago defender
washington post
and other periodicals
