Well just in case Ben Broussard has been living in a box for the last two years the Indians today announced Big Bens time in Cleveland is now entering its finale. With Garko's bat already deemed major league quality, Eduardo Perez was signed to platoon with Broussard. Now ive always been a broussard fan but even i have to admit that it is a relief to see that posssibly by the start of 2007 that Mr. Garko will be fillling a major hole in our 7th spot in the lineup. The question is should we wait until 2007 to start Garko? Is that too early or too late?

That seems a bit harsh. Ben's bat may have faded (or may not-he could bounce back (although not likely)), but his glove has always been outstanding. I'd rather see Garko at first, but-Ben has been a capable first baseman for the Tribe, and while it's time for his "era" to end, it wasn't all that bad.

Garko has been doing great in ST, batting .429. If he keeps it up, can he possibly force Shapiro to put him on the 25-man out of camp, something Shapiro has said won't happen? We all remember Sizemore's situation at ST last year. Or look at it another way: SHOULD Garko even break camp with the Tribe?

I like Broussard. I think that if he got the chance to play everyday he'd hit 20-25 HRs a year. Don't know why there is such hate.
