Why couldn't he take over for Frankie?
An 11-time All-Star catcher, Carter hopes to become a major-league manager.

Well, you can't really expect Frank to manage this team for much longer. So when Carter is ready to become an MLB Manager, hopefully he will consider the Nats

A star player wanting to become a manager and getting to be one can be two different things. I am impressed that a HoFer is willing to go to A ball to get managing experience.

Man, it would be lights out if he came to the Nats bench!
What a cool guy! I wish him luck!

Gary Carter may have a warm spot in his heart for Montréal and
their fans, but all other things being equal I'm sure he would pick the Mets
over the Nats. Remember, his first choice for the cap he wanted to
be depicted in at Cooperstown was a Met cap but he was overruled.
