They still have one year left on his contract and if his numbers don't improve, he probably will go back to Japan at the end of 2006 season.

How in the world did he transform himself from the advertised, "switch-hitting, slick-fielding SS w/some pop in his bat" to someone who had serious trouble both hitting *AND* fielding, and then couldn't stay healthy most of the time?

"$#!+ happens" --- Forrest Gump.

Matsui is probably platoon the 2nd base with Grudzelaniek (sp) this coming season. He actually did good toward the end of the year before going on the DL. Year three is either now or never for him.

The original Mets scouting report said Kazuo Matsui is Ichiro with Power.

:crazy

Kaz couldn't carry Ichiro's jock strap!

Grudzielanek signed with the Royals....

I am hearing that he may be involved in a deal with Tampa....
