Philly 2 - A's move to KC then Oakland
NY 2 - Giants move to SF
Brooklyn 1 - Moved to LA.

I'm not sure I fully understand this question the way it is written, but I have a technicality on KCG's answer.

I know we've been through this before, but Brooklyn is part of NYC, and not considered a separate city. It was originally established as a city, but some time around the turn of the century (I think it was 1898), is was incorporated into NYC.

Wouldn't the Washington Senators make this list also (eventually moving to Minnesota)?

I really meant to show Brooklyn as part of the NY moves. That in turn caused me to omit Washington. Good catches, guys.

I'm confused on the question because Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Detroit are also omitted so in 1951 there's really 16 teams playing in 10 cities. The teams in BOLD are the ones that have relocated.

Chicago 2 - Cubs and White Sox
Boston 2 - Braves and Red Sox
St. Louis 2 - Cardinals and Browns
Philly 2 - Phillies and Atheletics
NY 3 - Giants, Yankees, and Dodgers (Brooklyn)
Washington 1 - Senators
Pittsburgh 1 - Pirates
Cleveland 1 - Indians
Cincinnati 1 - Reds
Detroit 1 - Tigers
