I thought I'd start this thread to keep track of all the moves that DePodesta will do to "improve" the team.

Carrara, Wunsch opt for free agency (http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20051018&content_id=1253635&vkey=news_la&fext=.jsp&c_id=la)

Keep Wunsch, dump Carrara. That's all I have to say.

"The Dodgers plan to tear out every seat in the ballpark this winter and replace them with new seats in pastel shades — sky blue, turquoise, light orange and yellow — that evoke the original look of Dodger Stadium."

old-school is cool. but replacing "aisle" for "section" i think is just plain horrible.
isn't dodger stadium the only yard to use that term?

here (http://www.latimes.com/sports/baseball/mlb/dodgers/la-sp-stadium20oct20,1,4516564.story?coll=la-headlines-sports&ctrack=1&cset=true) is the story on the new seats.

Update:

Dodgers sign Cruz to an extension (http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/9023753)

Colletti next GM candidate for Dodgers (http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20051110&content_id=1267224&vkey=news_la&fext=.jsp&c_id=la)

It's official. McCourt does not know anything about Dodger tradition.

I saw on KCAL 9 on Tuesday noght that the Dodgers are selling the old seats for I believe 300 a pair.

Great. The last thing we need is to revive the LoDuca debate.

Notice anything wrong here? As in spending $13 M for a shortstop that we don't really need?

Two words Barry Zito . You better trade for him Colleti

mojorisin71
12-05-2005, 10:01 PM
Only if Colletti can work out a contract extension. Zito will be a free agent at the end of 2006.

By trading for him we can get him for alot cheaper than if he goes on the open market

Yeah, but I don't want to lose some prospects for a potential one-year rental.

Zito with the Dodgers would be perfect. He'll be a big fan favorite. He is home. He is a winner and would be nasty at Chavez Ravine. I doubt they would trade for him unless a contract extension was worked out. Look what the Braves gave up for Hudson. If he could package Choi it would be perfect

I am back and I don't know about you guys but I'm really glad to see what's taken place with the Dodgers this offseason. I know Colletti was a Giant assistant but I'm really happy with what he's done so far. Grady Little is a good manager even if he did leave Pedro in too long. We have Gagne, the Sox didn't have anyone like that. Well, I hope to be on here more now that the semester is over and I've passed my classes. Glad to be back and chat with you Dodger fans.

Congrats on a successful semester!
I agree that Colletti is on the right track, but we all must bear in mind that our rotation is still in need of some work. I think we'd all love to land Zito, Dotel, Millwood, or Washburn, but only the first two would be possibilities if we keep Weaver and want to keep our payroll where Colletti would like to to stay. Of that group, I'm really high on Dotel, as I believe he has a bright future, although he may not be back until mid-summer due to an elbow injury, so one of the other three may be a better option for '06.

Add Lofton to the list, Mojo, it says on Dodgers.com in the Nomar article he's being signed to a 1 year 3.85 million dollar deal.
