This is simple. It will be set up the same as the "Baseball Quotes Trivia" that was on here. You post a picture, and others try to guess who it is. If you get it right, then you post a picture, and it goes on and on and on. Try not to make them completely obvious, but easy enough so that someone might actually get it. Here's mine:

Since hhascup isn't giving us another picture, here's another to keep this thread going:

The player trying to apply the tag is the one I want you to name, but bonus points if you can name both the players.

It's Ty Cobb, and the other player is Kid Elberfeld.

That's right Jackie. Give us a picture.

I didn't get the idea for this from the "Name the Cub" thread. I got the inspiration from the "Baseball Quotes Trivia" thread. I thought that could also be done with pictures.

The pic of Wynn/Cobb are way too easy to figure out...right click, and look for properties...url address, bingo! anyone who don't follow baseball could've figure that out with some computer knowledge.

The player in the picture name is Ty Tyson, taken in 1928 when he played for the Brooklyn Robins, later called the Dodgers. I really was joking around when I posted this, so no body be mad at me, especially my 13 year old buddy.

Now post a picture, Steamboat Struss, so we can keep this going.

Metsfan28, you post a picture by finding a URL adress of a picture, not the web page a picture, but if you do a google search, click on the picture, then it will show you another screen. Click on the picture again, and it will show a screen with just that picture. Copy the URL of the page with just the picture. Then, when you go to post, click on the image icon above the posting box. Paste the URL, and click on the picture icon again, a picture will be on your post.

Is it Dennis Erckersley??

No it's not Dennis. This may be a little too tough. The player is a utility infielder from the 1950's. He has the same last name as 2 brothers that played for the Chicago Blackhawks.

Imapotato
08-22-2005, 07:10 AM
rbrittain, good job that was Braggo Roth

And the White Sox has to be Ron Jackson...no other IF I can recall wore a number 4 for the Pale Hose, I think Jackson was 44 or 48

ok next one from me, one of the best names of all time

Since IMAPOTATO isn't around to keep the thread going, I'll take my deferred right to post a photo from my previous correct answer. Here is another World Series hero, who shares a birthday with me. (We're Libras) Who is he?

Yep Ursa you got it

Monge, save a Pic to your HD, then below this text box it says manage attachments

Ursa Major
09-17-2005, 08:41 PM
I remember Babe Adams' name came up in 2002, as before John Lackey did it then, Adams was the only other rookie to start and win a WS Game 7. Good trivia question, Ima!

Apparently Adams, with his dark good looks (as the picture demonstrates), was considered to be quite the media heartthrob at the time.

Imapotato
09-18-2005, 01:43 AM
I am surprised they even named an old time player nowadays, but glad Babe Adams got some publicity in 2002, he was a very good P for a number of years

I am going to guess your pic is Mazeroski

Ursa Major
09-18-2005, 06:58 PM
No, but they have something very significant in common. Also, they were contemporaries. Maz played from 1956 to 1972, and this fellow played from 1961 to 1968. Here's a pic of Mazeroski:
http://s95294420.onlinehome.us/userfiles/Mazeroski.JPG

Ursa Major
09-21-2005, 08:27 PM
Ahh, c'mon. It's not that hard. What he had in common with Mazeroski is that they both were primarily second basemen. His World Series heroics relate to something that he did that was a first for National League players, although American players had done it a number of times before.

Imapotato
09-21-2005, 09:32 PM
I am so lost...where ar ethe smarter guys on this?

Iron Jaw
09-21-2005, 10:31 PM
Except that Maz had a considerably better glove.

I believe that is Chuck Hiller.

538280
09-22-2005, 08:16 PM
Sorry I'm cheating here, but I have to share this photo.

http://www.mugshots.com/IMAGES/PPP__Darryl-strawberry.jpg

Ursa Major
09-26-2005, 10:34 PM
Correct! That is indeed Chuck Hiller, the first National Leaguer to hit a home run in the World Series -- in 1962. During game four of the World Series against the New York Yankees, Hiller broke a seventh-inning 2-2 tie with a grand slam home run. The fastball he hit into the right field stands helped San Francisco win the game, 7-3. The Yankees eventually defeated the Giants in game seven. (Sorry to take so long to check on this quiz; I've been outta town.)

He and I share an October 1st birthday. Don't bother to send him a card for this coming Saturday; he passed away on October 20th of last year.

Iron Jaw, you're up!! Good job.

Ruth715
07-21-2006, 10:14 AM
Is that Joe Jakson?

Ruth715
07-21-2006, 10:21 AM
Since hhascup isn't giving us another picture, here's another to keep this thread going:

http://wso.williams.edu/~jkossuth/cobb/pics/avoiding.jpg

I think the one running is Ty Cobb and the catcher is Yogi Berra.

soberdennis
07-21-2006, 10:29 AM
That would make it Sammy Esposito. Most true hockey fans know that both Espo brothers played at one time for the Hawks.
I don't have a pic. Someone else can post one.
