To be honest with you, if you don't know somebody that is already in the business its going to be next to impossible to land a job. That job is all about who you know not what you know, unfortunately.
Clubhouse managers literally get 100's of calls from people wanting to be bat boys and clubhouse attendants.

Isn't that revealed in the new Batman movie?

hey, i never said that you'd get the job by contacting the equip. manager but thats the only way i could think of (besides obviously knowing someone). I remember seeing something on TV a few years ago they had a story on a kid who was an Astros batboy in spring training and the way he got it was by contacting the equip. manager but of coarse thats spring training so i assume that'd be easier to get. Good luck Grubdy, its basically impossible but no hamr in trying

you basically do have to know somebody. I got hired on as a batboy for the Mariners this last season and it's because I knew somebody who worked for the Mariners. The other three batboys were hired because they knew another batboy, so it is basically an insider thing.

Start your own team and be the bat boy.

the STL Carindals are hiring scorekeepers, if your looking for a job inside the league, you might have some luck here. You have to know how to operate a computer fairly well though, and type rather quickly

Money is a great motivator for some people within an organization.

I can't. I'm going to be 76 when the season starts.

Contact the front office of your local team. Each one has a different procedure. The Class A team I work with, has the Clubhouser Manager choose his batboys. Also, each state has differerent age requirements.

Good luck,

Bob

Yankee Stadium Wear Dreams Come True

How does one 'wear' a dream?

"A ball player has to be kept hungry to become a big leaguer. That's why no boy from a rich family has ever made the big leagues."
-Joe DiMaggio

Not true. Los Angeles Dodgers First Baseman Wes Parker came from a wealthy family. Parker was a fair-hiiting, slick-fielding player, who played nine years for the Dodgers.

And with multi-million dollar salaries, I doubt there are ANY hungry players today.
