View Full Version : Yankee Comebacks

The Yankees went down 5-0 in the third inning to the Rockies today... and then charged back to take a 7-5 lead (as I write this, Tom Gordon is pitching in the 8th inning).

What's the record for the most comebacks from 5 run defecits in a season? The Yankees seem to have done it an inordinate number of times this year. There really is no lead safe against them.

Oh, and it seems Derek Jeter really is back. In his last 14 games, he has 6 home runs, has 23 hits, is batting .359, has an OBP of .388, is slugging .750, for an OPS of 1.138. In those 14 games, he has 17 RBI and 16 Runs scored.

That big rush of air you hear is the collective held breath being released by every Yankee fan in New York.

Discuss.

Nah, that forum is more appropriate for discussing our 39 pennants and 26 world championships.

This is a topic that's more appropriate for General Baseball > Current Events.

To elaborate; this was the sixth time this year the Yankees won after trailing by 4 or more runs. They didn't do it once all last year.

He/she said 5 or more runs, not 4 or more, though.

Well considering what happened in October of 2004 I'm not surprised there had been no posts here in 3 years :laugh
