The blue pinstripe, it made us look like a winning team, and also like the yanks.

I hope the new ones get us to the playoffs too, but this time, to win it all.

It's a year later but...........I like the road sand colored uni's with the navy trim. It all looks very old school Padres circa 1936 and beyond. The SAN DIEGO on the front has that old school look as well. Most people don't like them. Someone said they look like urine.......disgusting.........I like them. No pinstripes, nothing that resembles the Spankmees......pleeze..... :gt

The new home unis are very nice as well. But I think the road unis are horrible. Just like they haven't been washed for a couple of months.

I will say, the Padres have the single ugliest uniform in all of North American professional sports... those hideous camoflauge uniforms with the mustard colored lettering.

The road style in 1976 and '77 was a preview of the rest of the decade.

Here's the now famous 2-tone brown and gold jerseys of 1978.

I always liked the Padres' Camoflague uniforms they wore occasionally, usually when their was going to be a large attendance of service men at the game

Wow I think the only Padres uniforms I don't like are the 1974-1977 look and the 1991-2003 look. I love every uniform from the 1980s and 1969. I love the current look too, though if they went with this look only brown and gold I think it'd be really cool.

Least favorite are the blue pinstripes. Hated the blue with orange.

Those newest away ones are awful. They do look like urine and baby poo mixed. Those are just awful. I wish the Padres would wear the old Brown and Yellow from the days of Winfield. Those newest ones are just well, they're awful.

Those new ones look too much like the Brewers current unis.

My pick was 1978, for one because the uni helped get the team to the playoffs and it was the first winning season for the franchise. However, I don't remember a solid yellow version that year. I only saw the other two versions.

The reason behind those uniforms is to honor the men and women of the Military.
I've seen far worse uniforms in pro sports....Vancouver Canucks V jerseys for starters.

Most certainly, the 1969 Padres!

Does anyone know of any pictures of the Padres PCL uniforms? I'm curious as to how similar they are to the inaugural 1969 uniforms.

The Camouflage uniforms are there to honor out Service Men and Women. Most of us out here happen to dig it. Being active duty my self, I appreciate it. I feel that more teams should honor Service Members, Police and Firefighters like this. :grouchy

I'm well aware that San Diego is a huge military town. That doesn't change the fact that those are hideously ugly uniforms. My Yankees could decide to raise money for homeless kids by wearing hot pink and blue plaid uniforms; the noble cause behind them wouldn't change how ugly they'd be. The Yankees and Mets do honor police and firefighters by wearing FDNY and NYPD caps from time to time; they are, however, done tastefully, and don't make the players look like somebody's baby vomited all over their shirts.

As an extra aside, I just realized that I responded within a half an hour to a post of mine that you responded to nearly two and a half years after I'd thrown it up. That has to be some kind of record.

It is not my intention to start a flame war or turn this thread in to a "my team does things better than yours thread." Trust me, I both respect and appreciate what the Yankee and Mets organizations have done over the years for both New York.....and well the U.S. as a whole. New York teams practically wrote the book on community relations. That being said, I still feel that saying that the Uniforms look like someone's baby "vomited" on them is somewhat over the top. As with all teams, the wearing or ball caps from the local Firehouse, Police department or Military styled uniform is a show of respect. In order to prevent this thread from spiraling out of control, lets just agree to disagree.

I don't see how it's over the top. They don't look very good. It's pretty clear that's all he meant.

I like these ones best. Is there a way to change my vote from 85-90 to the 69-71 unis?
